AI at NetSys, led by Jamie Baum
Jamie Baum pioneered the AI department at The NetSys Group and serves as head implementation manager. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Hofstra University and brings close to two decades of computer science background to the practice.
He has also owned and run a brick-and-mortar business, which is why the AI work here starts from the operating side rather than the technology — what a change does to bottom-line revenue, and whether a use case survives contact with how a business actually runs. That experience spans retail, finance, hospitality, media and law.

Founded and led by Joel Baum
Joel Baum founded The NetSys Group Inc. in 1998 and has led the firm through nearly three decades of managed IT and cybersecurity work — from the client/server era through cloud migration and, today, secure AI adoption.
Articles on the NetSys blog carry the bylines of the team members responsible for them — technical and security topics from the engineering side, AI and automation topics from the team that leads that practice. How we produce, review, and correct our content is documented in our editorial policy.

How we report our numbers
The proof points on this site are operating results reported by NetSys leadership, current as of August 2026:
- 100% ransomware recovery — across more than 30 ransomware incidents in the last three years, every organization we worked with was fully recovered. Where a NetSys client had a documented disaster recovery plan already in place, recovery was completed within 24 hours. Where the organization was not a client when it was hit and we were brought in on an emergency basis, recovery took closer to 72 hours — still a full recovery, but the plan is what buys back the two days. Restores run from tested, immutable backups using procedures we exercise on a schedule.
- 98% client retention — measured over a five-year period across our 50 managed clients: 49 of the 50 are still with us; one left. Every one of those agreements runs month to month with no long-term contract, so each of those years was re-earned twelve times over.
