NetSys vs. ETech 7

ETech 7 does something most managed IT firms avoid: they put commitments on the public website, including a money-back provision and their own rates. That makes them a useful firm to compare against, because there is something concrete to hold up. Here is how their published positions sit next to ours.

IT support in New York City

The short answer

ETech 7 is worth a call if you want an office nearby in Manhattan, Queens or Nassau County, on-site support written into every contract, and a 90-day money-back provision to de-risk the start. NetSys is the better answer if you would rather have no term at all than a refund window, plus privileged access controls, an AI practice and disaster recovery planning inside the same monthly agreement.

What ETech 7 is

ETech 7 runs three New York area offices: 30 W 47th Street in Manhattan, 90 Merrick Avenue in East Meadow on Long Island, and 61-43 186th Street in Fresh Meadows, Queens. Their company page says the firm has been in business for over ten years. The service menu is long, running from managed servers, networks and backup through hosted servers and applications, Microsoft Office 365 and virtualization. Two things stand out. Their New York City page carries a 100 percent money-back provision tied to a 90-day period, and their FAQ publishes per-unit monthly rates for a standard managed plan, which almost nobody in this category does.

A refund window against no term at all

The money-back provision is the most interesting thing on their site: 100 percent, tied to a 90-day period and to whether the service met the agreed terms. It is a real commitment, and more than most firms put in writing before you sign. It works by giving you a way out early. Ours works by never locking the door, since NetSys agreements run month to month, which makes month thirteen as free as month one with no exit penalty to calculate. One mechanism protects the start of a relationship. The other protects all of it.

On site support, from three offices or one

Proximity is a real service feature, and they publish three addresses for it, in Manhattan, East Meadow and Fresh Meadows, with onsite support stated in their FAQ as part of every contract. For a business in Queens or on the Island, that is worth something concrete. NetSys works from one Brooklyn office and publishes an on-site radius reaching New York City, Long Island, Westchester, the Hudson Valley, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and Florida, with remote delivery anywhere in the country. The comparison changes shape the moment your second location is out of state.

The controls behind administrator access

Privileged access management and privileged identity management decide who holds administrator rights, for how long, and what gets recorded when they use them. This is the control that turns one stolen password into a bad afternoon instead of a bad quarter. We searched their site for it and could not find it published, which tells you nothing about what happens inside their engagements, only that we could not read it. At NetSys both sit in the base agreement, not in an upsell, with 24/7 monitoring behind them.

ETech 7 appears here because it ranked on the first page of search results for IT services in New York City when we checked in September 2026. Everything in their column is drawn from pages published on https://www.etech7.com/ and links to the source. From Their Own Pages

Four more things worth knowing about ETech 7

Size and history

  • Their company page states the firm has been in business for over 10 years. (etech7.com)

NetSys: Independent since 1998. One office, in Brooklyn, and no private equity owner behind the name.

Industries they name

  • Their home page names legal, financial, healthcare and startups as industries they serve. (etech7.com)

NetSys: Twenty six industries with a page each, from healthcare and legal to hedge funds, auto dealers and government contractors.

Compliance work published

  • Their Manhattan page names HIPAA, PCI DSS and SOX as standards they assist with during compliance audits. (etech7.com)
  • Their New York City page names New York's SHIELD Act as a compliance framework they assist with. (etech7.com)

NetSys: Nine frameworks with a service page each: HIPAA, CMMC 2.0, SOC 2, NIST CSF 2.0, NYDFS 23 NYCRR 500, NY SHIELD, FTC Safeguards, PCI DSS and GLBA.

Rates on the website

  • Their FAQ page publishes per-unit monthly rates for a standard managed service plan. (etech7.com)

NetSys: We do not publish rates. We quote per business rather than per seat, after a call, because a thirty person firm with two servers and a thirty person firm with a regulator are not the same job.

What we looked for on their site and could not find

privileged access, privileged identity management or managed credentials.

That means we did not find it published, not that it does not exist. Ask them directly, and ask us the same questions. If ETech 7 publishes any of this and we missed it, write to info@netsysgroup.com and we will add it.

The honest fit: is NetSys the right ETech 7 alternative?

When ETech 7 is the better choice

ETech 7 earns the call from a Manhattan law firm, a financial office or a startup that wants its IT company at a midtown address, onsite support written into the contract, and published rates it can budget against before the first meeting. The 90-day money-back provision gives a cautious buyer a defined way to test the relationship. Their pages name HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOX and the New York SHIELD Act as standards they assist with.

When NetSys is the better choice

Come to NetSys if you want the freedom permanent instead of time limited, and more carried in the base agreement. One monthly fee covers AI adoption and automation, cybersecurity, managed IT with help desk, privileged access management, privileged identity management and disaster recovery planning, with 24/7 monitoring and an account manager whose cell number you keep. Independent since 1998, and the first Tier 1 external penetration test is free with findings yours either way.

Common Questions

NetSys and ETech 7: FAQs

What does ETech 7 include in a managed IT contract?

The published menu runs long: managed servers, managed network, managed IT support, managed backup for servers and workstations, disaster recovery, managed cloud, hosted servers and applications, Microsoft Office 365, IT consulting, server virtualization, cyber security and hardware configuration. Their FAQ adds that support runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and that all contracts include onsite support. The one item we looked for and could not locate in that list is privileged access and privileged identity management, and given how much else is spelled out, that is the question to put first.

What is the best ETech 7 alternative in New York City?

If proximity to midtown is why they are on your list, other Manhattan firms will match that easily. If it is the published commitments, then the comparison worth making is between terms rather than addresses. NetSys is a Brooklyn practice with no contract term at all, cybersecurity at the core of the agreement, not a line item, and an in-house AI practice that builds automation instead of reselling it. Read the two agreements side by side. That usually settles the question faster than another sales call.

How does switching work if we signed inside their 90-day window?

Read your own agreement first, because the money-back provision is tied to a period and to whether the service met agreed terms, and only your signed copy tells you where you stand. Nothing about hiring us requires you to break anything. On this side a handover means credentials collection, documentation, license ownership and a parallel monitoring period until we can see everything. NetSys terms are month to month from day one, so there is no matching window to track later.

Do both firms publish response times?

Both address it, in different places. Their FAQ publishes an average response time and a separate figure for emergencies. NetSys keeps response commitments in the agreement itself, on the view that the number worth having is the one you can hold someone to. Both are defensible positions. When you compare, ask for the commitment that applies to your account at 2am on a Sunday, and make sure it appears in the document you sign.
