SharePoint Intranet Consulting
Your staff should know where to find the current policy, the right form and the person responsible. NetSys helps plan, build and support a SharePoint intranet around those everyday tasks.
The short answer
SharePoint intranet consulting helps a business organize employee information into a usable internal site. NetSys scopes the structure, navigation, pages, document libraries, permissions and publishing responsibilities, then builds and tests the agreed experience. The engagement can include document-management setup, training, migration and ongoing support. Moving existing files is a separate workstream from deciding how employees will find and maintain information.
Where is the approved onboarding checklist? Which expense form is current? Who updates the benefits information? An intranet project starts with these recurring tasks and the people who own the answers. A visually polished homepage will not help if its links lead to stale documents or a department nobody maintains.
Bring examples of the information employees struggle to find, your current SharePoint or Teams setup, and the departments that will publish content. We separate launch priorities from later improvements, identify the people who can approve information, and agree how the site will be supported. That produces a defined project rather than an open-ended redesign.
Agree what a useful first release must do
Choose a small set of representative tasks before building: a new employee finds a policy, a manager publishes an announcement, an owner replaces an outdated form, and a person without permission cannot access restricted content. Test those tasks with the people who will use the site. Agree who can approve launch, what remains outside the first release and how feedback will become a controlled list of improvements.
What SharePoint intranet implementation can include

- Page layouts, navigation, announcements and useful departmental information
- Document libraries, naming and metadata appropriate to the agreed use cases

SharePoint Intranet Consulting FAQs
Can you improve an existing SharePoint intranet?
Yes. We can review its navigation, content ownership, libraries and access model before deciding what needs to change. Sometimes a focused reorganization and owner training are more useful than rebuilding every page. The proposal identifies the parts to retain, the changes to test and any content your team must supply or approve.
Is an intranet project the same as SharePoint migration?
No. Migration transfers agreed content from a source into a destination. An intranet project defines the experience people use to find information and the responsibilities for maintaining it. A project may include both, but file volume, permissions, migration tooling and cutover checks need their own scope.
Can you set up document management as part of the intranet?
Yes. We can scope libraries, metadata, versioning, access and the way staff work with current documents. Start with the document types and business process rather than copying every old folder into a new site. Records retention, sensitive information and any required approvals should be reviewed against your requirements; a site design alone does not establish compliance.
Does Microsoft 365 already include everything we need?
We review your subscriptions and the proposed features before quoting. SharePoint access does not mean every automation, advanced security capability, third-party component or custom integration is included. The proposal separates NetSys project fees from any Microsoft or other supplier costs and explains dependencies that affect the design.
Can different departments have different access?
The access model can distinguish readers, editors and owners and restrict information to the appropriate groups. We define the required boundaries and test representative accounts. Navigation or audience targeting should not be treated as a substitute for permissions protecting sensitive content.
How much does SharePoint intranet consulting cost?
Cost depends on the number of sites and audiences, content readiness, document-management requirements, permissions, migration work, integrations and training. A focused first release can establish a usable structure before adding more departments. NetSys quotes against agreed deliverables and states the implementation, support and licensing responsibilities separately.
Who writes the policies and keeps the site current?
Your organization owns and approves its business information. NetSys can help structure the site, configure publishing and train named owners, while subject-matter owners supply and maintain the content. Agree review responsibilities, replacement of departing owners and the support arrangement before launch so the portal has an operating plan.
