NetSys vs. CMIT Solutions
CMIT Solutions is everywhere, which is the point of a franchise. It is also the thing to understand before signing: the name on the truck is national, and the business behind it is a local owner. That can be excellent. It depends on the owner.
The short answer
CMIT Solutions is a national IT franchise: your provider is a local owner using a national brand's systems. NetSys is one firm, the same team since 1998, with security, AI, PAM, PIM and DR planning in one month to month agreement. The question with a franchise is which owner you get; the question with NetSys is whether you want a boutique at all.
What CMIT Solutions is
CMIT Solutions started in Austin, Texas in 1994 and began franchising in 1998. Today the network runs to roughly 250 to 275 franchise locations across North America with around nine hundred technology practitioners, each location owned and run by a local franchisee working from the brand's shared systems, vendors and playbooks. The model gives a small local shop national tooling, and it gives the buyer a familiar name in almost every town.
A franchise owner versus a firm
With a franchise, the quality of your service is the quality of the owner who holds your territory: their staff, their tenure, their judgment. Two CMIT offices can be very different businesses. NetSys has one owner group, one engineering team and one standard, since 1998. When you call, the people who built your environment are the ones who answer for it.
What the monthly fee carries
Franchise plans are built to be repeatable across hundreds of owners, which usually means a base package and a menu. Our agreement is deliberately not a menu: cybersecurity as the core, an engineer-answered helpdesk, privileged access and privileged identity management, disaster recovery planning with restores performed and timed, and an in-house AI practice. One agreement, month to month.
Terms and pressure
The industry standard is a one to three year agreement that renews itself. Ask any franchise office for its term and exit cost before you compare price. Every NetSys agreement is month to month, which keeps the pressure where it belongs, on us, every thirty days. Retention runs 98 percent anyway.
Our commitments, and the questions to put to CMIT Solutions
| The NetSys Group | Ask CMIT Solutions | |
|---|---|---|
| Agreement | Month to month. Leave any time. | What is the contract term, and what does leaving early cost? |
| What the monthly fee includes | AI services, cybersecurity, managed IT with helpdesk, PAM, PIM and disaster recovery planning in one agreement | What exactly is included, and what shows up later as an add-on or project fee? |
| Privileged access (PAM and PIM) | Included, with published service pages describing the work | Is privileged access management in the base plan, or an add-on? |
| AI services | In-house practice: readiness assessments, Copilot rollouts, workflow automation, custom builds | Who does the AI work: their engineers, or a referral to someone else? |
| Disaster recovery | A written plan, plus restores that are performed and timed | When was a restore last tested, and can they show the timing? |
| Who answers | A NetSys engineer, plus a named account manager with a real cell number | Who picks up at 2 a.m.: an engineer, or a ticket queue? |
| Proof before you commit | Free on-site penetration test in our coverage areas | What do they show you before you sign? |
We make no claims about CMIT Solutions's terms; their column asks what we would ask. Their side of the story is theirs to tell, and they may tell it well.
The honest fit: is NetSys the right CMIT Solutions alternative?
When CMIT Solutions is the better choice
Choose CMIT Solutions if you want a local owner operator in your own town, you have met the owner and the team, and a national brand's playbook behind a small office reassures you.
When NetSys is the better choice
Choose NetSys if you want one accountable senior team rather than a territory, a complete security first stack in the base agreement, and the freedom to leave any month if we stop earning it.
NetSys and CMIT Solutions: FAQs
Is NetSys an alternative to CMIT Solutions?
Yes. Both provide managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud and backup to small and mid sized businesses. The difference is structure: CMIT is a franchise of independently owned local offices sharing a brand; NetSys is a single firm with one team and one standard, and our agreement includes PAM, PIM, AI services and DR planning on month to month terms.
What should we ask a franchise IT office before signing?
How long the current owner has held the territory, who the engineers are and how long they have been there, what happens to your account if the territory changes hands, the contract term and the cost of leaving, and what sits outside the base plan. Put the same questions to us. Our answers are on this page.
Can NetSys take over from a CMIT office cleanly?
Yes, through the same documented transition we run for every takeover: credential and documentation handover, backup verification before cutover, and parallel monitoring until nothing is dark. Franchise offices typically use standard tooling, which makes the inventory straightforward.
