NetSys vs. Dataprise

Dataprise has been doing this almost as long as we have, at perhaps fifty times the size. If you are choosing between a large national MSP and a senior boutique, this page is that choice in miniature.

The nationwide service, in full

The short answer

Dataprise is a large, acquisition-built national MSP with an enterprise catalog. NetSys is a boutique senior team with one all-in monthly agreement. Bigger organizations lean Dataprise; mid sized firms that want senior attention lean NetSys.

What Dataprise is

Dataprise was founded in 1995, runs from Rockville, Maryland, and has grown into one of the country's larger managed service and security providers, partly through a steady series of acquisitions in recent years with private equity backing. The service catalog is broad and genuinely capable: managed IT, security operations, disaster recovery as a service, cloud and end-user services at national scale.

Fifty engineers who know you, or five hundred who might

Scale buys a large MSP coverage and process. It costs something too: at national size, your business is an account in a service tier. At NetSys the roster is small enough that the engineer who rebuilt your firewall remembers doing it, and your account manager's cell number is the escalation path. Mid sized businesses usually feel that difference in the first month.

One agreement, no menu

Large MSP catalogs price capabilities as line items, which is rational at scale. Our agreement is deliberately not a menu: cybersecurity, engineer-answered helpdesk, privileged access management, privileged identity management, disaster recovery planning with restores we perform and time, and in-house AI services, all inside the monthly fee, month to month. You can compare the two shapes directly on your own quote.

Proof, published

Our case studies carry measured outcomes with real names where clients allow it: a restaurant group restored from ransomware in 4.5 hours, a seven location medical practice, a hedge fund's custom CRM. We also start most engagements in our coverage areas with a free on-site penetration test. Evidence first is the sales process.

The honest fit: is NetSys the right Dataprise alternative?

When Dataprise is the better choice

Choose Dataprise if you are closer to a thousand seats than a hundred, want disaster recovery as a service at enterprise scale, and prefer a single large vendor with formal service tiers across the whole country.

When NetSys is the better choice

Choose NetSys if you are a mid sized business that wants senior attention, a complete stack in one monthly agreement, and terms that let you leave whenever we stop deserving you.

Common Questions

NetSys and Dataprise: FAQs

How does NetSys compare to Dataprise on service coverage?

The remote surface is comparable because that is how modern managed IT works everywhere: 24/7 monitoring, helpdesk, security operations, Microsoft 365 and cloud management, backup and recovery. The differences are structural: our stack, including PAM, PIM, AI services and DR planning, sits in one month to month agreement, and our on-site footprint is published plainly rather than implied.

Is a smaller provider riskier than a national one?

The honest answer is that each carries a different risk. A boutique concentrates knowledge in fewer people, which we offset with documentation and 24/7 systems. A national provider spreads you across many hands, which clients feel as anonymity and account churn. Ask both for the same evidence: response commitments in writing, tested restore times, and retention numbers. Ours are on this site.

What does switching from Dataprise to NetSys look like?

A planned handover: credentials and documentation collected, backups verified before cutover, monitoring run in parallel until we are satisfied nothing is dark. Large providers offboard through formal process, which makes the transition cleaner. Agreements here run month to month from day one.
