Cybersecurity Services in Phoenix, AZ

Phoenix has seen a hospital system settle with federal regulators over a hack and a school district hit by ransomware that started with one employee. NetSys runs managed security for Phoenix organizations from Brooklyn: endpoint detection with a response team watching around the clock, locked-down Microsoft 365 sign-ins, filtered email and backups attackers cannot erase.

All IT services in Phoenix, AZ

The short answer

NetSys provides cybersecurity services to Phoenix organizations as a remote managed security program: ThreatDown endpoint detection and response with managed detection, Microsoft Defender for Business, multifactor authentication enforced through Entra ID Conditional Access, Barracuda email protection, Rapid7 InsightVM vulnerability scanning, KnowBe4 phishing training, Keeper password management and immutable Datto or Veeam backups. Everything is deployed and watched remotely; NetSys does not send engineers on site in Phoenix. The program is mapped to Arizona's breach statute and, where your industry needs it, to HIPAA, the FTC Safeguards Rule or NIST SP 800-171.

How cybersecurity is delivered in Phoenix

Every control on this page is installed and run over the network. During onboarding the ThreatDown and NinjaOne agents go onto each computer, Conditional Access policies are built in your Entra ID tenant, and Barracuda is placed in front of your mail. Alerts reach ThreatDown's managed detection team and our engineers, who can isolate a laptop, disable a compromised account or revoke its sessions without anyone leaving Brooklyn. A replacement firewall ships with its rules already loaded, and your staff or cabling contractor connects it while we bring it online. NetSys does not send engineers on site in Phoenix, so incident response is remote as well: containment, evidence collection, restores and the written timeline your insurer and lawyers will ask for. Monitoring runs 24/7 from Brooklyn, and so does emergency service. Our staffed help-desk hours are 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern time, seven days a week. The proposal states severe-incident escalation, authorized remediation and any other after-hours work.

What has hit Phoenix-area organizations

Two local cases show the usual ways in. In February 2023 the HHS Office for Civil Rights announced a $1.25 million settlement with Phoenix-based Banner Health over a 2016 hack that exposed health information of 2.81 million people; regulators cited long-term, pervasive noncompliance with the HIPAA Security Rule, including no adequate risk analysis, too little monitoring of system activity and no proper authentication for access to patient data. In April 2025 Madison Elementary School District in Phoenix found an intrusion by the Interlock ransomware group, reportedly begun through social engineering aimed at an employee, and later notified about 35,000 people. Neither attack needed an exotic exploit. Each needed an account or a server nobody was watching closely, which is why our program starts with identity, logging and monitoring.

The controls in a Phoenix managed security program

Identity comes first. Entra ID Conditional Access requires multifactor authentication, blocks legacy sign-in methods and can restrict sign-ins to managed devices or expected countries. Endpoints get ThreatDown EDR with managed detection and response, plus Microsoft Defender for Business where your licensing includes it. Barracuda Email Protection screens inbound mail for phishing and impersonation, while DMARC, SPF and DKIM records reduce spoofing of your own domain. Rapid7 InsightVM scans for missing patches and exposed services, and NinjaOne closes the gaps it finds. Keeper replaces the shared spreadsheet of passwords. KnowBe4 sends phishing simulations and short lessons on a schedule. Datto SIRIS or Veeam backups are kept immutable, so ransomware that reaches a server cannot delete the copies you would restore from.

Wire fraud risk for title, escrow and real estate offices

Phoenix title and escrow companies hold buyers' and sellers' money in escrow trust accounts, and the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions licenses escrow agents and examines those accounts. That makes an escrow officer's mailbox worth stealing: whoever reads it can send a buyer convincing new wiring instructions. The FBI's 2024 Internet Crime Report counted 21,442 business email compromise complaints nationwide and about $2.77 billion in reported losses. For a title or real estate office we put sign-ins behind strong multifactor authentication, alert on new forwarding rules and sign-ins from unexpected places, move DMARC to an enforcing policy once legitimate senders are mapped, and help you adopt a call-back rule: any change to wiring details is confirmed by phone using a number already on file, never one taken from the email. Lenders, brokerages and property managers get the same checks.

Supplier security for the chip and aerospace supply chain

TSMC's Phoenix fabs, Intel's Chandler campus, Honeywell Aerospace and Boeing's Apache line in Mesa depend on a long tail of smaller firms; the Arizona Technology Council reports that Boeing's Mesa operation alone has about 270 in-state suppliers. Those firms receive security questionnaires from their customers, and defense work adds contract clauses. DFARS 252.204-7012 and NIST SP 800-171 Revision 2 still apply, along with a current SPRS score and affirmation and Level 1 or Level 2 self-assessments, even though the Department of War suspended CMMC Phase 2 third-party certification on July 13, 2026 while a reform task force reviews the program. For these suppliers we keep controlled data inside a defined enclave, record the evidence in IT Glue, run InsightVM scans on a schedule and answer questionnaires with documentation.

Firewall, antivirus and maintenance for a five-person office

A five-person office needed the basics done properly rather than an enterprise stack. NetSys replaced the internet provider's router with a business-grade firewall configured with sensible rules, secure remote access and logging, deployed managed antivirus on every machine with updates and alerts handled centrally, and put patching, backup checks and health reviews on a schedule. The agreement covers what the office needs and nothing it does not, month to month. No outcome figures were measured for publication.

What cybersecurity costs in Phoenix

Cybersecurity is priced per user per month when it runs as an ongoing service, and per project for an assessment or a remediation. What moves the number: how many devices and identities are in scope, how much incident remediation and recovery is needed beyond the monitoring and authorized MDR actions in scope, which compliance standard the evidence has to satisfy, and whether the Microsoft 365 tenant is already on Business Premium or the security tooling comes from us. The free external penetration test costs nothing and runs remotely before any of that. Our managed IT pricing page explains how the fee is built.

How the monthly fee is built

Who this fits, and who it does not

Best fit: businesses with enough people, money movement or regulated data that a breach would hurt, and no security team of their own: professional practices, healthcare groups, importers, financial firms, nonprofits and agencies holding client credentials. Companies with an internal IT person fit as a co-managed arrangement.

Common Questions

Cybersecurity in Phoenix: FAQs

How does cybersecurity work for Phoenix organizations?

It is a remote managed service. Agents and policies are deployed over the network, ThreatDown's managed detection team and NinjaOne monitoring watch continuously, and our engineers act on what they raise: isolating a device, locking an account, restoring files. Monitoring and emergency service run 24/7; the help desk is staffed seven days a week from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern time. Severe incidents go straight to your dedicated engineer. NetSys does not send anyone on site in Phoenix, so physical equipment such as a firewall ships to you configured.

How much do cybersecurity services cost in Phoenix?

We do not publish a price, because two Phoenix firms with the same headcount can need very different programs. Inside a managed IT agreement, security is part of the per-user monthly fee; standalone security work is quoted after scoping. The figure moves with the number of users, computers and servers, the Microsoft 365 licenses you already hold (Business Premium includes Defender for Business and Conditional Access), whether you need HIPAA, FTC Safeguards or NIST SP 800-171 documentation, and how much remediation the first vulnerability scan turns up.

Which cybersecurity rules apply to businesses in Phoenix?

Start with A.R.S. § 18-552: after you determine that a breach of Arizonans' personal information occurred, affected people must hear from you within 45 days, and a breach needing more than 1,000 notices also goes to the state Attorney General, Arizona's homeland security director and the three biggest credit bureaus. HIPAA covered entities and business associates, and firms under Title V of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, follow federal rules instead. Under the FTC Safeguards Rule, tax preparers and other nonbank financial firms must report a breach of 500 or more consumers' unencrypted data within 30 days of discovery. This is general information, not legal advice.

What happens if ransomware hits our Phoenix office?

The alert reaches ThreatDown's response team and our engineers together, and a severe incident goes straight to your dedicated engineer. We isolate affected machines, disable the accounts involved, preserve logs for your insurer and counsel, and restore from immutable backups once the environment is clean. NetSys has handled more than 30 ransomware incidents in the past three years, and every one was fully recovered; clients with a disaster recovery plan in place were back within 24 hours. Without a tested plan, recovery takes longer, which is why restore tests are built into the program.

Do you offer cybersecurity consulting without a managed agreement?

Yes. Security assessments, Microsoft 365 hardening, support for a HIPAA risk analysis, NIST SP 800-171 gap reviews and cyber insurance questionnaires can each be scoped as a project with a written deliverable. We also run a free external penetration test, performed remotely against an internet-facing scope agreed in writing, such as your firewall, VPN and public web applications. Internal testing and remediation are quoted separately. A project can turn into managed security later, on the same month-to-month terms as every NetSys agreement.

What is managed security, and how is it different from antivirus?

Antivirus blocks files it already knows are bad. Managed security adds people and process: ThreatDown's endpoint detection records what programs actually do, its managed detection team investigates suspicious behavior at any hour, and our engineers act on the findings. It also covers ground antivirus never touches, including sign-in policy, email filtering, vulnerability scanning, password management, staff training and backups that cannot be deleted. For a Phoenix office that means someone is looking overnight and on weekends, not only after a user notices something wrong.

Start with the free test

See what an attacker sees before they do.

The free assessment is a remote external penetration test, limited to the information available to NetSys and the external scope we agree with you. Internal reviews and ongoing security management are scoped separately.
