Managed IT Services in Huntington, NY
Downtown Huntington runs on small offices: physician and dental practices near Huntington Hospital, law and accounting firms above the shops on Main Street, financial advisers and property managers along New York Avenue. NetSys takes over the whole IT environment for offices like these, from devices and Microsoft 365 to the circuit and the software vendors, and our engineers come out from Brooklyn when a job needs someone there.
The short answer
NetSys provides managed IT services in Huntington, NY: NinjaOne monitoring and patching of every computer, Microsoft 365 and Intune administration, ThreatDown endpoint detection and response, backups with tested restores, firewall and Wi-Fi management, and a single point of contact for your internet provider, phone system and software vendors. Huntington sits inside the area our engineers reach in person, around 40 road miles from Park Slope; remote fixes come first, and an engineer visits for hardware, network and office-move jobs. The monthly fee is set per user once we have assessed the office, and the agreement can end any month.

How managed IT is delivered in Huntington
Day to day, the support is remote and quiet. NinjaOne flags a failing drive or a missed update, an engineer fixes it, and the office usually never hears about it. When something needs a person, an engineer drives from Park Slope, a little over an hour outside rush hour by the Long Island Expressway and Route 110 or the Northern State Parkway. On-site work in Huntington tends to be physical: replacing a firewall in an older Main Street building, running cable for a practice expanding into the next suite, setting up desks for new hires, or walking a space with the owner before a lease is signed. Anything severe, like ransomware, a dead connection or stopped email, jumps ahead of routine tickets to the engineer responsible for your office, who already knows how it is built. Monitoring runs 24/7 from Brooklyn, and so does emergency service. Our staffed help-desk hours are 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern time, seven days a week. The proposal states severe-incident escalation, authorized remediation and any other after-hours work.
Downtown, Huntington Station and the hospital district
Huntington's business map is easy to read. Downtown, Main Street (Route 25A) crosses New York Avenue, and the blocks around Wall Street and Gerard Street hold law offices, accountants, advisers, shops and restaurants. Huntington Hospital, part of Northwell Health, sits on Park Avenue and draws physician and specialist offices around it; the town's 2025 budget lists it as the third-largest employer in the Town of Huntington, behind Canon and the Northport VA Medical Center. South along New York Avenue, which carries Route 110, Huntington Station is redeveloping around its Long Island Rail Road stop with $10 million from the state's Downtown Revitalization Initiative, awarded in 2023. Melville's office parks are also in the town and have their own page; this one is written for the village-scale offices of Huntington itself.
Medical offices and the HIPAA work around them
With Huntington Hospital and the Northport VA among the town's largest employers, medical offices are a big share of Huntington's business mix, and managed IT for a practice differs from managed IT for a law office. The EHR and billing system is usually hosted by its vendor, so the practice's job, and ours, is everything around it: workstations that patch without breaking the scanner or the label printer, e-prescribing and multifactor sign-in that do not slow the front desk, a separate network for medical devices and patient Wi-Fi, and Microsoft 365 set up so a referral letter carrying health information goes out encrypted. The HIPAA Security Rule calls for a risk analysis, access and audit controls and a contingency plan, and we write and maintain that documentation. The HHS proposal to update the Security Rule, published in January 2025, is still a proposal rather than current law.
Storms, power cuts and recovery planning
Huntington's continuity risks are the North Shore's: wind that drops trees on lines, and heavy rain on hilly roads. In August 2020 Tropical Storm Isaias left upward of 420,000 PSEG Long Island accounts without electricity. Four years later, the August 18 to 19, 2024 storm, rated by the state as rain expected once in 1,000 years where it hit hardest, opened sinkholes in nearby Commack and washed out stretches of Route 25A farther east. Suffolk County was in the federal disaster declarations for both, and for the remnants of Ida in 2021. So email and files live in Microsoft 365, not a closet server, Datto or Veeam backups keep a copy outside the building, UPS batteries are sized to shut equipment down cleanly, and restore tests are dated and logged. That planning pays off: of the more than 30 ransomware cases we have worked in the past three years, all ended in full recovery, and clients that had a disaster recovery plan were running again inside a day.
The first 30 days with NetSys in Huntington
Nothing changes for staff on day one. During the first week an engineer inventories the office, in person for the closet, printers and hardware and remotely for accounts, licenses and the domain, and runs a trial restore from whatever backup exists today. In week two our agents go onto each computer, multifactor sign-in is enforced on Microsoft 365, and backups move to Datto or Veeam with an off-site copy. Weeks three and four clear the findings: shared logins become named accounts, local administrator rights come off everyday users, firewall firmware is brought current, and Windows 10 machines, unsupported since October 14, 2025, get a replacement date. Vendor contacts and renewal dates go into IT Glue. Staff notice a new sign-in prompt and a support number that answers; owners get a written inventory, a ranked risk list and an account manager of their own whose cell phone they can actually call.

A 20-seat organization handed NetSys the whole of its IT. Devices, network, Microsoft 365 and vendors came under one agreement with 24/7 monitoring and a named account manager; endpoint protection, multifactor authentication, email protection and tested backups went onto all twenty seats; staff got a help desk with engineers on the other end; and every new hire now goes through a defined onboarding process with recurring phishing training. What managed IT costs in Huntington
Managed IT is priced per user per month for a fully managed agreement, and the number moves with four things more than with headcount: how many servers you run, whether you need after-hours coverage beyond monitoring, how much compliance documentation you carry, and whether we are co-managing alongside an internal person or running everything. We quote from an assessment, not a phone call, and the agreement runs month to month. What belongs in the monthly fee versus what is billed separately is set out on our managed IT pricing page.
Who this fits, and who it does not
Best fit: 10 to 75 employees, one or two offices plus remote staff, already on Microsoft 365 or ready to move there, and either no internal IT or one person who is underwater.

Managed IT Services in Huntington: FAQs
Do you provide on-site managed IT in Huntington?
Yes. Huntington is within the radius our Brooklyn engineers serve in person, so hardware swaps, firewall and Wi-Fi installs, closet cleanups and new-hire setups happen at your desk. We try remote first because it is faster for your staff, and most tickets close on that first call. If someone has to come out, an engineer who knows your environment makes the trip, and every change is written up in IT Glue so whoever helps next can see exactly what was done.
How much do managed IT services cost in Huntington?
There is no rate card. After we assess the office, managed IT is quoted per user per month, and the number depends on how many people and computers you have, which servers or cloud systems need looking after, whether HIPAA or NYDFS paperwork is part of the job, and what security tools you already pay for. You can leave any month, and 98% of clients choose to stay. One-time projects, from an office move to a server replacement, get their own quote after scoping.
What does a managed IT plan include for a Huntington office?
Each plan bundles NinjaOne monitoring and patching for every device, a help desk staff can reach seven days a week, Microsoft 365 user administration, Intune rules for company laptops, ThreatDown protection with analysts watching it, Barracuda filtering on incoming mail, Keeper for passwords, backups whose restores we test, and care of the firewall and Wi-Fi. Around that sit vendor management for carriers, phones and software, full documentation, a hardware replacement plan and KnowBe4 phishing training. Monitoring and emergency service keep going overnight and on holidays.
Which data-security rules apply to Huntington medical and professional offices?
Every business holding New York residents' private information falls under the SHIELD Act, which requires reasonable safeguards, and since December 2024 General Business Law 899-aa gives a business 30 days from discovering a breach to notify the people affected. Medical and dental practices add the HIPAA Security Rule. Investment advisers and broker-dealers answer to SEC Regulation S-P as amended in 2024, insurance agencies licensed by the state fall under NYDFS Part 500, and tax preparers under the FTC Safeguards Rule. This is general information, not legal advice.
Can you work with the software vendors our office already uses?
Yes. We do not replace your EHR, practice-management or document system vendor; we handle everything around the application so their support can stay focused on it. That means meeting their workstation and network requirements, opening a logged, time-limited remote session when they need access for an upgrade, keeping their contacts and contract dates on file, and calling them on your behalf when something breaks. If a vendor's requirement conflicts with security, such as asking for a shared administrator account, we find a supported alternative with them.
