Managed IT Services in Miami

NetSys runs IT for small and mid-sized businesses in Miami: help desk, security, backups, Microsoft 365 and the network, for a flat monthly fee per user. We have run IT out of New York since 1998, and our engineers hold degrees in electrical and computer engineering. Miami is served from Brooklyn, in the same Eastern time zone. Monitoring, help desk and remediation run remotely around the clock from Brooklyn. On-site commitments are arranged in advance and sized to the engagement. Most clients run between 10 and 75 seats, and every agreement is month to month.

The short answer

NetSys provides managed IT to businesses in Miami: help desk with engineers on the line, 24/7 monitoring, patching, ThreatDown managed detection and response, Microsoft 365 and Intune administration, tested backups and vendor management, for a flat monthly fee per user. Delivery is remote-first from Brooklyn, and on-site commitments are arranged in advance and sized to the engagement, up to a dedicated engineer with a drive time generally under an hour where regular presence is part of the scope. Most clients run between 10 and 75 seats, and every agreement is month to month.

How managed IT is delivered in Miami

Miami is served from Brooklyn, in the same Eastern time zone. Monitoring, help desk and remediation run remotely around the clock from Brooklyn. On-site commitments outside the tri-state area are arranged in advance and sized to the engagement: a mostly remote engagement needs no dedicated on-site engineer, while an engagement that calls for regular presence, such as a standing on-site day or two each week, gets a dedicated engineer whose drive time is generally under an hour, depending on where that engineer and your office are. Hardware ships pre-configured, so most projects need no visit at all. The buildings decide a lot of the design. Brickell towers have carrier choice, Doral's warehouses put the network closet by the dock on a single circuit, and Coral Gables and Wynwood offices sit in older buildings with shared risers, so segmentation and a second path out are designed remotely from a site survey the client walks with us. The carriers we see most in Miami are AT&T Business Fiber, Comcast Business and Hotwire Communications, and the failover design starts with which of them actually reach your building.

Who managed IT in Miami is built for

Most of our Miami work sits in Brickell, Downtown Miami, Doral, Coral Gables and Wynwood: financial and investment firms on Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, importers, exporters and freight forwarders on CargoWise, real estate developers and brokerages on Yardi, law firms on Clio, medical practices on athenahealth, and hospitality businesses on Toast. Each carries its own compliance load, which the section below covers, and each has a line-of-business vendor we coordinate with rather than work around. Companies with an internal IT person fit too; in that case we supply the monitoring, the security stack and the after-hours coverage behind them, and they keep their projects.

What tends to go wrong in Miami

Two things shape the continuity design here. First, the weather and the grid: hurricane season and king-tide flooding in Brickell are the design case, so backups live out of state and the recovery plan assumes the building is unreachable for days. Second, the attacks that actually land locally are ordinary ones, and the public record shows how they go: the 2021 ransomware attack on Broward County Public Schools, in which attackers demanded $40 million and later published stolen files. The controls in the next section are the ones that would have changed those stories.

What is included

Managed IT Services in Miami: what NetSys delivers

Support that answers

  • Help desk by phone, email and Teams with engineers on the line, an immediate response from your dedicated engineer when something severe happens, and everything else worked by severity
  • Remote monitoring and management through NinjaOne on every endpoint and server, 24 hours a day
  • Patch management on the maintenance schedule agreed with you, weekly or quarterly as the business prefers, with urgent fixes applied as needed and a report showing what was patched where
  • Onboarding and offboarding checklists for every hire and departure, covering accounts, devices, access and the return of hardware

The security stack, included

  • ThreatDown MDR and EDR on every workstation, laptop and server, monitored around the clock
  • Entra ID Conditional Access, multifactor authentication and Microsoft Defender for Business across the tenant, with legacy authentication switched off
  • Barracuda Email Protection with impersonation and link protection, plus DMARC enforcement for the domain
  • Rapid7 InsightVM vulnerability scanning on a schedule, with findings fixed rather than filed

Continuity and planning

  • Quarterly reviews with a written roadmap, a budget and a list of what changed since last time
Engagement profile

A 22-person importer, exporter or freight forwarder in Wynwood

The specific engagements behind this profile are under NDA, so it is written as a generalization rather than a named client. Our published, client-approved outcomes are in case studies.

A 22-person importers, exporters and freight forwarders in Wynwood running CargoWise on a Windows Server 2016 box in a closet, Microsoft 365 licensed by a former office manager, and a break-fix provider who bills hourly and appears once something is already down. The one internal IT person gave notice and took the passwords with them. Nobody can say who has access to what, the last backup restore was never tested, and the AT&T Business Fiber circuit is the only path to the internet.

  • Credentials, licenses and documentation collected from the outgoing provider, and what was actually deployed audited against what was being paid for
  • Microsoft 365 tenant review: dormant accounts closed, legacy authentication switched off, Entra ID Conditional Access and multifactor authentication applied to every user
  • Intune enrollment for every laptop and phone, with Windows Autopilot registration for new hardware and a compliance policy that gates access to email and files
  • Cisco Meraki firewall and switches configured with segmentation for servers, staff, printers and guests, and a cellular failover circuit
  • Cutover in stages over three to four weeks, with the old provider's access removed at the end and no downtime during business hours
  • NinjaOne RMM agents deployed to every workstation and server for 24/7 monitoring, patching and remote support

Day-to-day support moves to engineers with 24/7 monitoring behind them, the security stack is on every device, and the quarterly review keeps the roadmap and the budget in the same conversation. The agreement stays month to month.

Published case study

Complete managed IT, cybersecurity and help desk for a 20-seat organization

A 20-seat organization handed NetSys the whole of its IT. Devices, network, Microsoft 365 and vendors came under one agreement with 24/7 monitoring and a named account manager; endpoint protection, multifactor authentication, email protection and tested backups went onto all twenty seats; staff got a help desk with engineers on the other end; and every new hire now goes through a defined onboarding process with recurring phishing training. The write-up is limited to the scope delivered, with no outcome figures claimed.

Compliance in Miami: FIPA and what sits on top of it

If you hold personal information on a resident of Florida, the Florida Information Protection Act (Fla. Stat. § 501.171) requires reasonable measures to protect personal information and notice to affected residents within 30 days of discovering a breach, one of the shortest deadlines in the country, with notice to the Department of Legal Affairs when 500 or more Floridians are affected. Healthcare practices add HIPAA, financial advisors add SEC and FINRA, and businesses taking card payments carry PCI DSS. The Florida Digital Bill of Rights (2024) reaches only very large companies. The managed agreement produces the evidence those rules ask for as a by-product: access reviews, patch reports, backup test results and a written incident response plan. Most firms we take over have none of it documented, which is the part that matters if you ever have to demonstrate compliance, so the documentation is built during onboarding rather than sold as a separate project.

What managed IT costs in Miami

Managed IT is priced per user per month for a fully managed agreement, and the number moves with four things more than with headcount: how many servers you run, whether you need after-hours coverage beyond monitoring, how much compliance documentation you carry, and whether we are co-managing alongside an internal person or running everything. We quote from an assessment, not a phone call, and the agreement runs month to month. What belongs in the monthly fee versus what is billed separately is set out on our managed IT pricing page.

How the monthly fee is built

Who this fits, and who it does not

Best fit: 10 to 75 employees, one or two offices plus remote staff, already on Microsoft 365 or ready to move there, and either no internal IT or one person who is underwater.

Not a fit: businesses under five people, who are usually better served by the small-office baseline described in our five-person case study, or organizations over 250 seats, which need an internal team we can co-manage with rather than replace.

Common Questions

Managed IT Services in Miami: FAQs

Can you work with our existing IT person?

Yes. That is a co-managed arrangement: your person keeps the relationships and the day-to-day, and we take monitoring, security, patching and after-hours coverage, with the split written into the agreement. Our co-managed IT page describes how the responsibility matrix is drawn.

Do we have to sign a long contract?

No. Every NetSys agreement runs month to month, with no long-term contract and no early-exit penalty. The scope, the responsibilities on each side and the monthly figure are written down before you sign.

Is cybersecurity included or extra?

Included. Endpoint detection and response, multifactor authentication and Conditional Access, email protection, security awareness training and immutable backups are part of every managed agreement. The free external penetration test runs remotely before you hire us.

Do you have an office in Miami?

Our office is in Brooklyn, NY. Miami is served from Brooklyn, in the same Eastern time zone. Outside the tri-state area the on-site arrangement is agreed before the engagement starts and sized to what it needs: none for a mostly remote account, and a dedicated engineer, generally within an hour's drive, where regular presence such as a standing on-site day or two each week is part of the scope. The proposal states that arrangement, coverage hours and any travel in writing, and the agreement runs month to month.

How fast does Florida require breach notification?

The Florida Information Protection Act gives a business 30 days from discovery to notify affected residents, and 500 or more affected Floridians also triggers notice to the Department of Legal Affairs. Thirty days goes quickly without logs and a written plan, which is why both are part of the service.
