Office Relocation IT Services
Your moving date is fixed. The internet installation, phone port, building access and network testing all need to fit around it. Give the IT work one plan and one accountable lead.
The short answer
Office relocation IT services coordinate the technology work before, during and after a business move. NetSys scopes the destination network, internet service, Wi-Fi, phones and equipment; coordinates the relevant vendors; and tests the systems your staff need when the new office opens. Hardware, carrier charges, cabling and after-hours work are identified in the quote.
The first planning conversation should happen while you are choosing the space. An available internet service is not the same as an installed, tested circuit. A floor plan needs to show the network closet, power, access-point positions, conference rooms and any devices that cannot simply work over Wi-Fi.
Bring the proposed address, floor plan, target move date, team size and a list of systems that cannot be interrupted. We use those inputs to define the work, identify outside dependencies and decide what can be prepared before the move. If you already have an IT team, we can scope the relocation project around the responsibilities they keep.
Define what ready for opening means
Agree acceptance checks before equipment moves: staff can sign in, key applications work, inbound and outbound calls connect, printing works where needed, and guest traffic stays separate. The cutover plan names who can approve a delay and what fallback is available if a carrier or building dependency slips.
What an office IT relocation can include
Destination readiness
Check the building and carrier dependencies before committing to the cutover.
- Internet ordering, installation coordination and activation checks
- Network closet, power, cabling and access-point requirements
- Building access and vendor responsibility schedule
Phones and working connections
Treat phone numbers, meeting rooms and business applications as separate test cases.
- Phone-system and number-port coordination where required
- Firewall, switches, Wi-Fi and remote-access configuration
- Conference-room, printer and line-of-business connectivity checks
Cutover and handover
Move against a written runbook, then verify the result with the people who use it.
- Equipment inventory and labelled connections
- Agreed move window, escalation contacts and fallback actions
- Opening-day checks, network documentation and open-issue list
Buy a working move, with responsibilities in writing.
Tell us the old and new locations, the date and the systems your business depends on. We will confirm the site coverage, dependencies, project responsibilities and quotation before work begins.
- One scope covering the technology dependencies of the move
- A clear division between NetSys, carriers, building trades and your team
- Acceptance tests tied to your actual applications and working day
Office Relocation IT Services FAQs
When should we involve an IT provider in an office move?
As soon as you have a destination shortlist or draft floor plan. Carrier availability, installation dates, access rules and cabling can affect the schedule. We confirm lead times with the relevant vendors rather than promising a fixed number of weeks for every building.
Can you move our IT outside business hours?
Ask for the required window when requesting the quote. We confirm staffing, building access, carrier dependencies and any additional costs in the scope. A weekend move still needs testing and a named decision-maker available during the cutover.
Does the quote include new hardware and cabling?
Only when those items are listed. The proposal separates project work, equipment, carrier charges and any cabling or electrical work. We assess equipment that can be reused before recommending replacements.
Can we keep our existing phone numbers?
Usually the plan can include a number port or a change to how calls reach your staff, but the carrier must confirm portability and timing. Keep the existing service active until the agreed transition and inbound-call checks are complete.
Is ongoing IT support required after the move?
The relocation can be scoped as a project. The quote should name the post-cutover support period and who handles issues after handover. Ongoing managed IT is a separate decision with its own responsibilities and pricing.
