NetSys vs. Netsurit
Netsurit publishes staff numbers in the hundreds on its city pages and sets out its security response times tier by tier. NetSys is a Brooklyn practice of senior engineers. They rank on page one for Brooklyn managed IT, and much of what they publish lines up dimension for dimension with what we publish.
The short answer
Netsurit is the stronger fit if you want a large organization with published response tiers and ISO certification behind it. NetSys is the stronger fit if you want a small senior team and one agreement that already includes privileged access management and disaster recovery planning. Both run the daily work remotely, so the real decision is which structure you want answering when something breaks at two in the morning.
What Netsurit is
Netsurit dates itself to 1995 and publishes staff figures on its city pages, over 450 on the New York City page and over 290 tech support staff on the Brooklyn page. Offices and dedicated phone lines are listed for New York, New Jersey, Maine, New Mexico, Tacoma, Connecticut and Houston, and the company also runs a South African regional site. Two things stand out in what they publish: ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certification, and a security page that states response times by tier, two hours during business hours at the entry level and thirty minutes around the clock above it.
Published headquarters: New York, NY (US site lists 224 West 30th Street, Suite 1008, New York, NY 10001). netsurit.com
Service levels on the site, or in writing
Start with what each firm puts in public. Netsurit states a two hour response during business hours on its entry security tier and thirty minutes, around the clock, on the two tiers above, so a buyer can see what each level buys before making contact. NetSys does not run security tiers. Monitoring is 24/7 for every client, and the commitments go into your agreement rather than onto the website, which means they are set against your environment and enforceable as contract terms. Tiers make that trade explicit at the point of sale, which is a fair way to sell it.
Recovery targets you can set yourself
Their backup and disaster recovery page hands the buyer two numbers to set: recovery time and recovery point targets are described as customizable, with a testing cadence stated as monthly or quarterly. Numbers you choose are numbers you can hold a provider to, and a cadence in writing is easier to audit than an assurance. NetSys builds the same commitment into the agreement instead, where disaster recovery planning sits alongside the monitoring that would catch the failure in the first place. Whichever way you go, the useful question at renewal is what the last test proved.
Scale, and who owns your account
Netsurit publishes a dedicated account executive model, an average call wait figure and a remote resolution rate on its help desk page, which is how a large organization makes itself legible to a buyer. NetSys is small deliberately. The engineers who build your environment are the ones who answer, Joel Baum is the founder and one of the senior engineers, and your account manager gives you a cell number rather than a position in a queue. Neither shape suits everyone. A company with its own IT director and several hundred seats often wants the larger organization behind it.

Four more things worth knowing about Netsurit
Size and history
- Their company page dates the founding to 1995. Their New York City page publishes 450+ staff and 27+ years of experience; their Brooklyn page publishes 290+ tech support staff and 23+ years. (netsurit.com)
NetSys: Independent since 1998. One office, in Brooklyn, and no private equity owner behind the name.
Industries they name
- Their site navigation lists five named industry verticals. (netsurit.com)
NetSys: Twenty six industries with a page each, from healthcare and legal to hedge funds, auto dealers and government contractors.
Compliance work published
- Their Netsurit Secure page publishes ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certification, and their backup and disaster recovery page names GDPR, POPIA and HIPAA as regulations their backup processes support. (netsurit.com)
NetSys: Nine frameworks with a service page each: HIPAA, CMMC 2.0, SOC 2, NIST CSF 2.0, NYDFS 23 NYCRR 500, NY SHIELD, FTC Safeguards, PCI DSS and GLBA.
Rates on the website
- Their New York City managed services page publishes a cost range in an FAQ answer, and directs visitors to a free consultation for a tailored quote. (netsurit.com)
NetSys: We do not publish rates. We quote per business rather than per seat, after a call, because a thirty person firm with two servers and a thirty person firm with a regulator are not the same job.
What we looked for on their site and could not find
privileged access, privileged identity management or managed credentials.
That means we did not find it published, not that it does not exist. Ask them directly, and ask us the same questions. If Netsurit publishes any of this and we missed it, write to info@netsysgroup.com and we will add it.
The honest fit: is NetSys the right Netsurit alternative?
When Netsurit is the better choice
Go with Netsurit if you want ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certification on the provider side, backed by a company that publishes staff numbers in the hundreds and offices from Maine to Houston. Their security tiers let you buy a thirty minute round the clock response if that is what your risk demands. If your business also has operations in South Africa, they run a regional site there.
When NetSys is the better choice
Go with NetSys if you would rather have a small senior team than a large one, with the whole stack in a single monthly agreement: AI adoption and automation, cybersecurity, managed IT with help desk, privileged access and privileged identity management, and disaster recovery planning. No term and no exit penalty. One office in Brooklyn covers the tri-state area on site, with nine compliance frameworks and twenty six industry pages behind the same team.
NetSys and Netsurit: FAQs
Is Netsurit the same firm in the United States and South Africa?
Their own site publishes both sides of that. The US site lists a New York address on West 30th Street and offices with dedicated lines in seven locations, and the company runs a separate South Africa regional site, with the disaster recovery page describing the firm as Dell's number one certified direct partner in South Africa. How that structure touches delivery of your account is a question for the first call. NetSys is one office, in Brooklyn, with no overseas arm to ask about.
What does Netsurit include before you sign anything?
Quite a lot, by the standard of the category. They publish three no cost pre-engagement offers: a free IT audit on the home page, a free security audit on their security page, and a free AI assessment on the AI productivity page. NetSys offers one thing instead, deliberately narrow and technical. Tier 1 is a free external penetration test, open to any business, and you keep the findings whether or not you hire us. Tier 2 goes at source code inside an isolated sandbox, quoted per codebase. Both are ways of showing work before money changes hands, and either one is worth taking.
What is a smaller Netsurit alternative in Brooklyn?
NetSys is one, and the honest framing is a trade rather than an upgrade. With Netsurit you are buying an organization: tiers, an account executive, published wait figures, hundreds of staff. With NetSys you are buying the people themselves, running much the same daily practice at a smaller scale, with cybersecurity, privileged access management, AI work and disaster recovery planning inside one month to month agreement. A company that needs a large vendor name on a procurement form usually prefers the first. A company that wants to know its engineer's voice usually prefers the second.
How do Netsurit's contract terms compare with month to month?
They publish more of a guarantee than most. Their backup and disaster recovery page describes a no risk service guarantee that includes guaranteed response times, money back assurance, the ability to cancel within four months and thirty days of free service, which is a real commitment and worth having restated in the agreement itself. NetSys is month to month from the first day, with no early exit penalty at any point. Both structures answer the same worry, which is being stuck with a provider that stopped earning the relationship.
