Wealth Management IT Support in Denver, CO
Registered investment advisers and wealth managers along 17th Street, in Cherry Creek and around the Denver Tech Center hold client data that attackers want and examiners ask about. NetSys runs IT and cybersecurity for Denver advisory firms remotely from Brooklyn, with written procedures and evidence that stand up to an SEC or Colorado Division of Securities review.
The short answer
NetSys provides IT support and cybersecurity for Denver wealth management firms and RIAs: an engineer-staffed help desk, Microsoft 365 hardened with Entra ID Conditional Access, ThreatDown managed detection and response, Barracuda email protection with encryption, Keeper for credentials, tested backups and the written incident response program Regulation S-P now requires. Everything is delivered remotely and through the cloud from Brooklyn, with no on-site service in Denver. The help desk is staffed from 2 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mountain time, so it is open well before the 7:30 a.m. Mountain market open, and monitoring runs 24/7. Pricing is per user per month.

What changes for a Denver wealth management firm
Denver's money has an address. Banks, brokerages and law firms have lined 17th Street since the 1870s, which is why the street was called the Wall Street of the West more than a century ago, and financial firms still occupy its towers, along with offices in Cherry Creek North and around the Denver Tech Center and Greenwood Village. The Bureau of Labor Statistics counted about 112,600 financial-activities jobs in the Denver-Aurora-Centennial area in September 2026 (preliminary). Regulation depends on size. An adviser located in Colorado with less than $100 million under management is licensed and examined by the Colorado Division of Securities, which sits at 1560 Broadway; larger firms register with the SEC and make a notice filing in Colorado. Both regulators are paying attention to technology. On September 19, 2025, the Division's examination staff warned state-licensed advisers about third-party platforms that manage clients' held-away accounts by having clients share their custodial usernames and passwords, a practice it said can violate Colorado rules. A Denver firm's IT has to answer that kind of question with configuration, not reassurance.
Remote support for a Denver advisory firm
NetSys supports Denver advisers entirely remotely, and no NetSys engineer works on site at Denver offices. The help desk opens at 2 a.m. Mountain, so a trader or operations associate who cannot reach the custodian's platform at 6:45 a.m. has an engineer on the line well before the 7:30 a.m. Mountain opening bell. It stays open until 9 p.m. for planners meeting clients in the evening. Laptops ship encrypted and enrolled through Windows Autopilot, whether to the 17th Street office or an adviser's home in Highlands Ranch, and they arrive with the CRM, the planning software and the firm's security settings already in place. Monitoring, ThreatDown detection and emergency response run around the clock. Critical issues get a phone response within ten minutes and remote work within thirty, and a dedicated account manager with a real cell number handles anything that does not fit a ticket.
Custodians, CRM, reporting and email
An advisory firm runs on custodian platforms, a CRM, portfolio accounting and reporting software, financial planning tools, e-signature, document storage and an archive that retains email and messages for the required period. We secure the access around all of it. Every custodian and vendor login gets its own named account with multifactor authentication, and shared credentials move into Keeper with access logged by person, which answers the Division's concern about shared passwords inside the firm as well as outside it. Entra ID Conditional Access blocks sign-ins from unmanaged devices and unexpected countries. Barracuda filters inbound mail, encrypts outbound messages that contain account details, and flags lookalike domains. We document a call-back procedure for any request to move money or change bank details, because that request is how most adviser fraud starts, and we test staff on it with KnowBe4 simulations.
Fraud, impersonation and staying open
Advisers are targeted because one convincing email can move a client's money. The patterns we see are a compromised client mailbox that asks for a distribution, an attacker inside an adviser's own account who replies to existing threads, and calls that impersonate a custodian's service desk. ThreatDown and Microsoft Defender for Business watch endpoints, Microsoft 365 sign-in alerts catch impossible travel, and DMARC on the firm's domain reduces spoofing of your own name. Continuity matters as much as prevention. Denver firms lose power to events such as the April 2024 Xcel wind shutoff and to hail that damages buildings, so client files live in SharePoint with Microsoft 365 backup, any remaining servers back up through Datto or Veeam to an out-of-region copy, and the plan lists how advisers keep trading and serving clients from home if the office is closed for days.

Compliance rules for Denver wealth management firms
SEC Regulation S-P (2024 amendments)
SEC-registered advisers must keep written policies for an incident response program that detects, responds to and recovers from unauthorized access to customer information, oversee service providers through due diligence and monitoring, and notify affected individuals as soon as practicable and within 30 days. Larger firms had to comply by December 3, 2025 and smaller firms by June 3, 2026, so the program should already be in place.
Colorado Division of Securities cybersecurity procedures
Colorado's rules (3 CCR 704-1) require advisers to keep written procedures reasonably designed to ensure physical security and cybersecurity and to include both in the firm's risk assessment. To the extent reasonably possible they must provide for an annual assessment, secure email with encryption for confidential personal information, authentication for staff access, procedures for verifying client instructions received electronically and disclosure of electronic-communication risks.
Colorado breach notification
Under C.R.S. 6-1-716 a firm has 30 days after determining a breach to notify affected Colorado residents, and must also notify the Attorney General when 500 or more are affected. Account numbers combined with a code or password that permits access count as personal information. Where federal rules set a different deadline, Colorado's guidance applies whichever timeframe is shorter.
Colorado Privacy Act exclusion
The Colorado Privacy Act excludes financial institutions and affiliates subject to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which is why the breach statute and the securities rules usually matter more to an adviser than the privacy act does. Whether the exclusion covers your firm and every affiliate is a question for counsel. This is general information, not legal advice.

Wealth Management Firms in Denver: FAQs
Who provides IT support for wealth management firms in Denver?
NetSys supports Denver RIAs and wealth managers remotely from its only office, in Brooklyn, NY. We have run IT since 1998 and work with financial firms that face examinations, so we build the help desk, Microsoft 365, endpoint protection, email security and backups around the evidence a regulator requests. Every firm has a dedicated account manager with a real cell number, agreements run month to month, and our client retention rate is 98%. We do not claim a Denver office or Denver staff.
How does IT support work for Denver wealth management firms?
It is remote and cloud-based. Advisers and operations staff can call, email or message the help desk in Teams from 2 a.m. until 9 p.m. Mountain, weekends included, and urgent problems reach an engineer at any hour. NetSys does not send engineers on site in Denver; laptops ship encrypted and enrolled, and any cabling or hardware swap is done by your staff or a local contractor while an engineer confirms the result. Monitoring and managed detection and response run 24/7.
What does IT support cost for a wealth management firm in Denver?
Advisory firms pay a per-user monthly fee that we set after an assessment; we do not publish it. What moves it is the number of offices and remote advisers, whether you still run servers, how many custodians and vendor platforms need managed access, the compliance documentation we maintain for examinations and any coverage you want beyond our standard hours. Projects such as moving files from a server to SharePoint, or building your Regulation S-P incident response program, are scoped and quoted separately.
How do you help an RIA meet the amended Regulation S-P?
We write and run the technical half of the program. That means an incident response plan with named roles, detection through ThreatDown and Microsoft 365 alerting, a tested process for scoping what customer information was reached, a service-provider inventory with the due diligence each vendor received, and records that support the 30-day customer notice if one is needed. Your chief compliance officer owns the policies and decisions; we supply the controls, the logs and a yearly tabletop exercise to test them.
Do you support portfolio management, CRM and reporting platforms?
We support the access and infrastructure around them: named accounts with multifactor sign-in, single sign-on where the vendor allows it, Conditional Access rules, browser and certificate settings, integrations between the CRM and the custodian feeds, and the devices advisers use. When something breaks inside the platform, we open and follow the ticket with the vendor. Each platform's admins, renewal dates and support contacts are recorded in IT Glue so a departure does not leave the firm locked out.
We are a state-licensed adviser. What does Colorado expect from our IT?
The Division of Securities expects written physical and cybersecurity procedures sized to your firm, an annual assessment of risks to confidential personal information, secure and encrypted email for that information, authentication for staff access, a way to verify client instructions that arrive electronically and disclosure to clients of the risks of email. Examiners also ask how third-party platforms reach client accounts. We provide the assessment, the controls and the documentation, and your compliance lead signs off on the procedures.
