Cybersecurity Services in Plano, TX
Plano is one of the largest financial-services employment centers in Texas, and the smaller firms that sell to those banks and insurers inherit their security expectations. NetSys runs managed detection and response, identity and email controls, vulnerability scanning and recovery for Plano organizations, remotely from our Brooklyn office, with engineers who act on alerts instead of forwarding them.
The short answer
NetSys provides cybersecurity services to Plano, Texas businesses: ThreatDown managed detection and response on every endpoint, multifactor authentication and Entra ID Conditional Access, Barracuda email protection, Rapid7 vulnerability scanning, KnowBe4 training and immutable backups that are restore-tested. The service is remote and cloud-based from Brooklyn, and NetSys does not send engineers on site in Plano. Monitoring and emergency response run 24/7, the help desk is staffed 3 a.m. to 10 p.m. Central every day, and agreements run month to month, priced per user after an assessment.

How cybersecurity is delivered for Plano organizations
Everything in this service runs over the network from our Brooklyn office, one hour ahead of Plano. The ThreatDown agent and Microsoft Defender for Business report from each laptop and server to a staffed security operations center that can cut a compromised device off the network, and our engineers take the case from there: who signed in, what ran, what changed and what has to be reset. Identity controls live in your Microsoft 365 tenant, so we enforce multifactor authentication, block legacy sign-in methods and write Conditional Access rules without touching a desk. A replacement firewall arrives with its rules already loaded from our IT Glue records; your office manager or cabling contractor connects it while an engineer watches it come online. We do not send engineers on site in Plano. Monitoring runs 24/7 from Brooklyn, and so does emergency service. Our staffed help-desk hours are 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern time (3 a.m. to 10 p.m. Central), seven days a week. The proposal states severe-incident escalation, authorized remediation and any other after-hours work.
Plano's banks and insurers set the bar for their suppliers
Plano Economic Development figures reported in December 2025 put JPMorgan Chase at 11,261 employees in the city, followed by Bank of America, Capital One, Liberty Mutual, USAA, Fannie Mae and Fisher Investments. In January 2026 AT&T announced it will move its global headquarters to a 54-acre campus on Legacy Drive, with partial occupancy targeted for the second half of 2028. Large companies like these send security questionnaires to the agencies, consultancies, software shops and staffing firms that serve them, and the questions are specific: is multifactor authentication enforced for every user, are endpoint alerts reviewed by people, are backups immutable, is there a written incident response plan, when was the last phishing test. We keep the evidence for each answer in IT Glue, from policies and screenshots to scan reports and training records, so the next questionnaire is answered from records rather than memory.
The attacks Plano offices report most
Texans filed more than 62,000 complaints with the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center in 2024 and reported more than $1.35 billion in losses, second only to California. For a Plano office, the pattern behind those numbers is familiar. A supplier's mailbox is compromised, a real invoice thread continues with new bank details, and accounts payable wires the money. Payroll diversion works the same way through a fake direct-deposit change sent to HR. The controls that stop it are plain: Barracuda Email Protection screening inbound mail, DMARC on your own domain to reduce spoofing, Conditional Access that refuses sign-ins from unmanaged devices and unlikely locations, alerts when a mailbox rule starts forwarding mail outside the company, and a written callback rule for any change to payment instructions, confirmed by phone to a number already on file.
What two North Texas incidents teach about vendors
In late November 2023 the North Texas Municipal Water District, which supplies Plano, Frisco, McKinney and other suburbs, disclosed a cyberattack that the Daixin Team ransomware group claimed. Water service continued, but the district's phone system stayed down after most network access was restored. In July 2023, HCA Healthcare said patient contact and appointment details had been taken from an external storage location used for reminder messages, and the North Texas hospitals listed included Medical City Plano. Neither event started on an office laptop. Both point at the systems a business forgets to count: hosted phones, outside storage and the service providers holding customer lists. Our cybersecurity scope starts with an inventory of those dependencies, who can reach them, how you would learn they had been breached and what the fallback is while one is unavailable.
Texas's safe harbor for businesses under 250 employees
Since September 1, 2025, Chapter 542 of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, added by Senate Bill 2610, has barred exemplary damages in a breach lawsuit against a Texas business with fewer than 250 employees, if the business shows it maintained a qualifying cybersecurity program when the breach happened. The program has to conform to a recognized framework and scales with headcount: under 20 employees, simplified requirements including password policies and staff training; 20 to 99, at least the CIS Controls Implementation Group 1; 100 to 249, a full framework such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, the CIS Controls or ISO 27001. We map the controls we run to the right tier and keep dated evidence that they were in place, because that record is what the statute asks a business to show. This is general information, not legal advice.
Cybersecurity in Plano: what NetSys delivers

- Microsoft Defender for Business, Entra ID Conditional Access and phishing-resistant sign-in for finance staff
- Legacy authentication off, dormant accounts closed, forwarding rules and consent grants reviewed monthly
Measure and recover
- Rapid7 InsightVM scans of the internal and external footprint, with a monthly fix list
- Managed firewall with intrusion prevention, segmentation and vendor access that is logged and switched off when the work ends
Law office: layered security on Microsoft 365 with cloud-to-cloud backup
A 25-attorney firm needed client confidences protected better than a closet server could manage. Alongside a Microsoft 365 migration, NetSys layered anti-phishing and email threat protection, DNS filtering, multifactor authentication on every account and endpoint protection across attorney devices in the office and remote, and established independent cloud-to-cloud backup of the entire tenant because the recycle bin is not a backup strategy for privileged material. The firm reported 82% fewer IT support incidents per month within two quarters.

What cybersecurity costs in Plano
Cybersecurity is priced per user per month when it runs as an ongoing service, and per project for an assessment or a remediation. What moves the number: how many devices and identities are in scope, how much incident remediation and recovery is needed beyond the monitoring and authorized MDR actions in scope, which compliance standard the evidence has to satisfy, and whether the Microsoft 365 tenant is already on Business Premium or the security tooling comes from us. The free external penetration test costs nothing and runs remotely before any of that. Our managed IT pricing page explains how the fee is built.
Who this fits, and who it does not
Best fit: businesses with enough people, money movement or regulated data that a breach would hurt, and no security team of their own: professional practices, healthcare groups, importers, financial firms, nonprofits and agencies holding client credentials. Companies with an internal IT person fit as a co-managed arrangement.

Cybersecurity in Plano: FAQs
How does cybersecurity work for Plano organizations?
Remotely and continuously. ThreatDown and Defender agents watch every managed device, a staffed security operations center reviews detections at all hours, and NetSys engineers handle containment, cleanup and the follow-up conversation with you. Identity and email controls are set in Microsoft 365, Rapid7 InsightVM scans run on a schedule, and backups are proven by restoring them. Your staff can reach the help desk from 3 a.m. to 10 p.m. Central, seven days a week, and ransomware or a suspected account takeover goes straight to your dedicated engineer. NetSys has no Texas office and does not send staff on site in Plano.
What do cybersecurity services cost for a Plano business?
Security is priced per user per month, usually inside a managed agreement, with the figure set after an assessment rather than taken from a published rate card. Four things move it most: the number of servers and cloud workloads to protect, whether you need compliance documentation for a regulator or a client audit, the number of locations and firewalls, and how much remediation the assessment finds before monitoring starts. Projects such as a Microsoft 365 hardening sprint or a firewall replacement are quoted separately after scoping. Agreements run month to month, so monitoring does not require a multi-year contract.
Do you offer managed security services and cybersecurity consulting in Plano?
Both. Managed security is the ongoing part: managed detection and response around the clock, email filtering, vulnerability scanning, patching and a quarterly review of what was found and fixed. Consulting is the project part: a gap assessment against a framework such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, an incident response plan your leadership has rehearsed, answers to a client's security questionnaire, or a cyber insurance application checked against what is actually configured. Firms often start with the consulting work to find the gaps, then move the fixes into a managed agreement so they stay fixed.
Which Texas laws require a business to protect customer data?
Section 521.052 of the Business and Commerce Code requires a business to maintain reasonable procedures, including corrective action, to protect the sensitive personal information it collects, and to destroy records it no longer keeps by shredding, erasing or making them unreadable; GLBA financial institutions follow federal rules instead. The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, in force since July 1, 2024, adds reasonable administrative, technical and physical data security practices for covered controllers, though it exempts SBA-defined small businesses and HIPAA-covered entities. The Attorney General enforces both, and breach-law violations carry civil penalties of $2,000 to $50,000 each.
What does the free external penetration test cover?
It is a remote test of what your business exposes to the internet, run within a scope we agree in writing first: public IP addresses, the firewall, VPN and remote-access portals, and exposed web services. It uses only the information available to NetSys and the scope you approve, and it does not touch internal systems. You receive a report of what was reachable and what should be closed, ranked by risk. Internal testing, social engineering and remediation are separate, scoped work. For a Plano office, it is a quick way to learn whether an old remote-desktop port or an unpatched VPN appliance is still answering.
See what an attacker sees before they do.
The free assessment is a remote external penetration test, limited to the information available to NetSys and the external scope we agree with you. Internal reviews and ongoing security management are scoped separately.
