Cybersecurity Services in Fort Worth, TX
Fort Worth's aerospace suppliers, clinics, energy firms and law offices hold exactly the data attackers sell: controlled defense drawings, patient records, bank details. NetSys runs managed detection and response, identity controls and email security for them, and produces the evidence that federal contracts and Texas law ask for, all delivered remotely from Brooklyn.
The short answer
NetSys provides cybersecurity services to Fort Worth organizations: ThreatDown endpoint protection monitored around the clock by a security operations center, Defender for Business on every Windows device, multifactor authentication enforced through Entra ID Conditional Access, Barracuda email protection, Rapid7 vulnerability scanning and KnowBe4 phishing training, plus the documentation that NIST SP 800-171, HIPAA and Texas law expect. The service is remote and cloud-based, and there are no on-site engineers in Fort Worth. Monitoring and emergency service run 24/7; the help desk is staffed seven days a week from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern time, which reads an hour earlier on Fort Worth clocks.

How cybersecurity is delivered for Fort Worth organizations
Security work happens where attacks happen: in identities, inboxes and endpoints, and we manage all three from Brooklyn. The ThreatDown agent goes on every computer and server, and its security operations center can isolate a machine within minutes of a confirmed detection, at any hour. Conditional Access policies decide which devices and locations may sign in to Microsoft 365. Barracuda filters mail before it reaches staff. Rapid7 InsightVM scans for missing patches and exposed services, and our engineers work the findings in order of risk. There are no on-site visits in Fort Worth; if a compromised laptop must be replaced, a clean one ships already enrolled in Intune and the old one is wiped over the network. Incident evidence, such as logs and a timeline of what happened, is kept for your insurer and counsel. Monitoring runs 24/7 from Brooklyn, and so does emergency service. Our staffed help-desk hours are 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern time (3 a.m. to 10 p.m. Central), seven days a week. The proposal states severe-incident escalation, authorized remediation and any other after-hours work.
Defense suppliers after the 2026 CMMC suspension
Fort Worth builds fighter jets. Lockheed Martin assembles the F-35 at Air Force Plant 4 on the city's west side, Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth sits next door, and Bell is among the city's largest employers, so a long tail of machine shops, engineering firms and distributors handles controlled unclassified information. On July 13, 2026 the Department of War suspended CMMC Phase 2, the step that would have required third-party Level 2 certification as a condition of award from November 10, 2026, and put Phases 3 and 4 on hold while a reform task force reviews the program. The pause does not lift the obligations already written into contracts: DFARS 252.204-7012, NIST SP 800-171 Revision 2, Level 1 and Level 2 self-assessments, and a current SPRS score with an affirmation. We keep the controls running and the system security plan, plan of action and evidence current, so a supplier is ready whichever way the program goes.
What recent Tarrant County attacks teach
Two public incidents show how attacks begin here. On March 21, 2024, the Tarrant Appraisal District identified a ransomware disruption on its network; its counsel said the Medusa group was believed responsible, the district did not pay a reported $700,000 demand, and it later said data on about 300 people had been posted online. It was the district's second confirmed attack, after one in October 2022, and its board afterward approved new security software, testing and auditing. In 2022, a hacktivist group copied files from a City of Fort Worth maintenance-management website, claiming it had obtained administrator credentials; the city said it found no evidence that sensitive data such as Social Security or banking information was involved. Neither case needed exotic malware. Both point to stolen or weak credentials, internet-facing systems and slow detection, which is why our first month with a new client goes to MFA everywhere, removing standing admin rights and putting every endpoint under watch.
Texas security and privacy rules in plain terms
Under section 521.052 of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, every business must keep reasonable procedures protecting sensitive personal information and to destroy records it no longer needs. Section 521.053 sets the clock after a breach: notice to affected individuals within 60 days of determining it happened, and, once 250 or more Texans are affected, a report to the Attorney General no later than day 30. The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, in force since July 1, 2024, adds reasonable data security practices and processor contracts for companies that are not small businesses under the SBA definition. Since September 1, 2025, Chapter 542 has offered firms under 250 employees a shield from exemplary damages after a breach if they kept a program that fits their size, from password policies and training below 20 employees up to a recognized framework such as NIST CSF at 100 to 249. This is general information, not legal advice.
Managed security services, consulting and what drives the price
Most Fort Worth firms need both kinds of IT security work. Cybersecurity consulting answers a defined question: where your gaps are against NIST SP 800-171 or HIPAA, what a cyber-insurance application will ask, or how to recover from an incident. Managed security services keep the controls running every day: detection and response, patching, identity policies, email filtering, phishing tests and a monthly report. Consulting is quoted as a project after scoping. Managed security is billed monthly per user, at a rate that comes out of an assessment, and the drivers are the number of endpoints and servers, the compliance evidence you need, whether you handle defense information, and the level of ThreatDown coverage. We also offer one free service: an external penetration test, run remotely against an agreed scope, that shows what an attacker on the internet can see.
Cybersecurity in Fort Worth: what NetSys delivers
Detection and response
- ThreatDown managed detection and response with EDR agents on every workstation, laptop and server, monitored 24/7
- Microsoft Defender for Business and Rapid7 InsightIDR telemetry from identities, email and endpoints, with a person acting on alerts
Identity and email
- Entra ID Conditional Access and multifactor authentication across Microsoft 365, with legacy authentication switched off
- Privileged access and privileged identity management so admin rights are granted just in time and removed afterwards
Exposure and recovery
- Rapid7 InsightVM vulnerability scanning on a schedule, with findings fixed rather than filed
- Cisco Meraki or Fortinet firewall management, segmentation and DNS filtering on office and remote devices
Firewall, antivirus and maintenance for a five-person office
A five-person office needed the basics done properly rather than an enterprise stack. NetSys replaced the internet provider's router with a business-grade firewall configured with sensible rules, secure remote access and logging, deployed managed antivirus on every machine with updates and alerts handled centrally, and put patching, backup checks and health reviews on a schedule. The agreement covers what the office needs and nothing it does not, month to month. No outcome figures were measured for publication.

What cybersecurity costs in Fort Worth
Cybersecurity is priced per user per month when it runs as an ongoing service, and per project for an assessment or a remediation. What moves the number: how many devices and identities are in scope, how much incident remediation and recovery is needed beyond the monitoring and authorized MDR actions in scope, which compliance standard the evidence has to satisfy, and whether the Microsoft 365 tenant is already on Business Premium or the security tooling comes from us. The free external penetration test costs nothing and runs remotely before any of that. Our managed IT pricing page explains how the fee is built.
Who this fits, and who it does not
Best fit: businesses with enough people, money movement or regulated data that a breach would hurt, and no security team of their own: professional practices, healthcare groups, importers, financial firms, nonprofits and agencies holding client credentials. Companies with an internal IT person fit as a co-managed arrangement.

Cybersecurity in Fort Worth: FAQs
How does cybersecurity work for Fort Worth organizations?
It runs remotely from our Brooklyn office through tools installed on your devices and in your Microsoft 365 tenant. ThreatDown's security operations center watches endpoints 24/7, our engineers handle alerts, patching and identity policy, and staff can bring suspicious emails or locked accounts to the help desk from 3:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Central. During an incident, your dedicated engineer leads containment over the network: isolating machines, resetting credentials and restoring from backup. Nobody from NetSys travels to Fort Worth for it, and replacement hardware ships configured.
How much do cybersecurity services cost in Fort Worth?
Managed cybersecurity is billed per user per month, with the figure set after an assessment, and projects such as a NIST SP 800-171 gap assessment or an incident response plan are quoted once the scope is clear. What moves the price: the count of endpoints and servers, how many locations and firewalls you have, the level of managed detection coverage, and the documentation your contracts, insurer or regulator require. We do not publish a price list, because a five-person office and a defense machine shop with the same headcount need very different work.
Does the CMMC suspension mean a Fort Worth supplier can wait?
No. The July 2026 suspension stopped the rollout of third-party Level 2 certification as a contract condition; it did not remove DFARS 252.204-7012 or NIST SP 800-171 Revision 2, and self-assessments and a current SPRS score with an affirmation remain in force. A prime contractor can still ask for your score and evidence at any time. Stopping now also means rebuilding later, and the reform task force's report, due to the CIO on September 11, 2026, had not been made public as of late October.
What should a Fort Worth clinic know about HB 300?
HB 300, passed in 2011, rewrote Texas Health and Safety Code chapter 181 and defines a covered entity more broadly than HIPAA does, so practices, billing services and even IT vendors that handle protected health information can fall under it. Every employee must complete privacy training within 90 days of hire and sign a statement confirming it, and the practice keeps that statement for six years. We deliver training through KnowBe4, store completion records, and put the HIPAA Security Rule's technical safeguards in place: access control, audit logs, encryption and backups.
What happens if ransomware hits our Fort Worth office?
Call the help desk or your dedicated engineer at any hour; severe incidents go straight to the engineer. We isolate affected machines through ThreatDown, disable compromised accounts, preserve logs for your insurer and attorney, and restore from backups an attacker cannot delete. In the past three years NetSys has worked through more than 30 ransomware incidents, each one fully recovered, and clients who had a recovery plan ready were working again inside 24 hours. When a breach reaches 250 or more Texans, the Attorney General must hear about it within 30 days, and your counsel makes that call.
See what an attacker sees before they do.
The free assessment is a remote external penetration test, limited to the information available to NetSys and the external scope we agree with you. Internal reviews and ongoing security management are scoped separately.
