IT Support in Staten Island, NY
Help for the people doing the work: the front desk PC that will not print, the laptop that will not join the Wi-Fi, the owner locked out of email before a closing. NetSys runs the help desk, the devices and the Microsoft 365 accounts for Staten Island offices, and our engineers drive over from Park Slope when a fix needs hands.
The short answer
NetSys provides IT support to Staten Island businesses: a help desk staffed by our own engineers seven days a week from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern, support for every laptop, desktop, phone and printer, Microsoft 365 account management and onboarding for new hires. Most requests are solved remotely during the call. Because Staten Island is inside our on-site area, an engineer comes to your office from Park Slope when hardware, cabling or a network closet needs attention. Pricing is set per user per month once we have assessed your environment, on month-to-month terms.

How IT support is delivered to Staten Island offices
Calls, emails and portal tickets reach the help desk, where the engineer who answers is the one who works the problem, with remote access to the machine in front of you. Password resets, Outlook profiles, printer queues, a scanner that stopped sending to email, a laptop that cannot see the VPN: those end during the call. When a problem needs a person on site, Staten Island is a scheduled drive from Park Slope over the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, about half an hour to the North Shore and closer to 45 minutes to the South Shore. Typical visits replace a failed drive or docking station, add a cable drop, set up a conference room screen, or move a desk for a new hire. Severe problems such as ransomware, no internet or email down skip the queue and go straight to your dedicated engineer. Monitoring runs 24/7 from Brooklyn, and so does emergency service. Our staffed help-desk hours are 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern time, seven days a week. The proposal states severe-incident escalation, authorized remediation and any other after-hours work.
Early starts, long commutes and the hours the help desk keeps
Staten Island workdays start early. The state comptroller found the average borough commute ran 46 minutes in 2017, against 27 nationally, and two-thirds of residents drove or carpooled, so plenty of people open their laptops at home before facing the expressway, or answer email from the ferry. A help desk that opens at 9 a.m. misses that hour. Ours is staffed from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern, seven days a week, by engineers rather than a call center reading scripts, so a dentist checking the day's schedule at 6:30 a.m. or a contractor sending bids at 9 p.m. reaches someone who can fix the problem. Outside those hours, alerts from monitoring are still watched around the clock and emergencies still reach an engineer, and the ticket is waiting with notes when your office manager signs in.
Devices, printers and the small-office setups common on the island
Many Staten Island offices sit in converted houses, storefronts and small professional buildings rather than towers, and their IT grew one purchase at a time: a reception PC that doubles as the owner's machine, a label printer at a parts counter, a Wi-Fi router the carrier installed in a closet. We bring each device under management with NinjaOne, enroll laptops and phones in Intune, and replace consumer gear with a Meraki or Fortinet firewall and business access points where it is causing tickets. Windows 10 support ended October 14, 2025, so any PC still running it gets a Windows 11 upgrade or a replacement plan. New laptops arrive already enrolled through Windows Autopilot, so a new hire signs in on day one and their apps, email and settings install themselves.
New hires, departures and the accounts in between
Onboarding is where small offices lose the most time. With NetSys, a manager emails the help desk a name, a role and a start date. We create the Microsoft 365 account, assign the license and groups, set up multifactor authentication, prepare an enrolled laptop, and add the person to the shared mailboxes and Teams channels their job needs. Keeper holds shared passwords, so nobody keeps a spreadsheet of logins on the desktop. Departures run in reverse on the same day: sign-ins blocked, mail forwarded to a manager, the laptop wiped and reissued, and access to the practice, agency or accounting system removed with the vendor. Seasonal and temporary staff, such as tax-season help, get accounts with an end date that switch themselves off. Every change is recorded in the ticket, which is what an auditor or an insurer will ask to see.
Support for home offices and staff on the move
Plenty of island work happens away from the office: a bookkeeper at a kitchen table in Great Kills, an estimator in a truck at a job site in Bayonne, a partner reviewing files on the ferry. We support those people the same way as staff at a desk. Laptops are managed through Intune wherever they are, so patches, encryption and policies still apply at home. Microsoft 365 and SharePoint replace the VPN to a closet server where we can, and where a VPN is still needed it runs through the firewall with multifactor sign-in. Home Wi-Fi trouble gets a remote look, and if the home router is the cause we tell you what to buy. When a laptop fails outside the office, we ship or drop off a replacement already enrolled, so the person signs in and their files follow.
IT Support in Staten Island: what NetSys delivers
Support people use
- A help desk that answers the phone with an engineer, and a dedicated engineer who responds immediately when systems, internet or email go down
- Remote support through NinjaOne for most problems and scheduled on-site visits for the ones that need hands
Prevention, not just repair
- Round-the-clock monitoring with alerts an engineer works, so disk, backup and security problems are caught early
- Patch management on a maintenance schedule set with you, weekly or quarterly as the business prefers, with a report of what was applied
Everything else
- Vendor coordination for printers, phones, ISPs and line-of-business software
- Backup monitoring with scheduled restore tests and a written result
Firewall, antivirus and maintenance for a five-person office
Not every engagement is a transformation. A five-person office ran on the router the internet provider supplied, whatever antivirus came with the laptops and updates that happened when someone remembered. NetSys replaced the router with a business-grade firewall configured with sensible rules, secure remote access and logging, deployed managed antivirus on every machine with updates and alerts handled centrally, and put patching, backup checks and health reviews on a schedule. The agreement covers what a five-person office needs and nothing it does not, month to month. No outcome figures were measured for publication.

What IT support costs in Staten Island
IT support is priced per user per month, and the number moves with how much on-site time you need, whether after-hours coverage goes beyond monitoring, how many servers and specialized applications are in scope, and whether security tooling is already licensed or comes from us. Per-device pricing suits crews that share hardware. We quote from a short assessment, and the agreement runs month to month. Our managed IT pricing page sets out what sits inside the fee.
Who this fits, and who it does not
Best fit: 5 to 75 employees, mostly on Microsoft 365, with staff who need someone to call and nobody on payroll whose job is IT, or one person who needs a bench behind them.

IT Support in Staten Island: FAQs
Do you provide on-site IT support in Staten Island?
Yes. Our engineers work on site anywhere on Staten Island, from St. George to Tottenville, as part of our New York City coverage. A visit is booked when a problem needs hands: replacing hardware, tracing a cable, sorting out a network closet or setting up new desks. Before anyone drives, the help desk tries the remote fix, which is how most tickets close. If an engineer does need to come, you get an arrival window based on the problem and the parts, and the work is logged in the same ticket so you can see what was done.
How much does IT support cost for a Staten Island small business?
IT support is quoted per user per month after we look at your environment; NetSys does not publish a price list. The fee moves with the number of people and devices, shared workstations at a front desk or on a warehouse floor, whether you keep a server on site, and whether a rule such as HIPAA shapes the setup. A five-person office on Microsoft 365 costs less to support than a twenty-person clinic with imaging equipment. Hardware and one-time projects are quoted separately, and the agreement is month to month.
How fast does the help desk respond to an office in Staten Island?
The written commitments on our help desk page apply the same way on Staten Island as in Manhattan, because the work starts remotely either way. A critical issue, meaning a system down or a security event, gets a phone response within ten minutes and remote work within thirty. A standard request gets a call back within thirty minutes and remote work within an hour. Overnight, monitoring keeps running and emergencies still reach an engineer, and anything that needs a visit is scheduled from the same ticket.
Do you support Macs, iPhones and Android phones?
Yes. Macs are enrolled in Intune alongside Windows PCs, so encryption, updates and policies apply to both, and iPhones and Android phones get company email and Teams through managed apps that keep business data apart from personal photos and messages. If a phone is lost on the ferry, we wipe the company data without touching the rest. Staff who rely on specialized Mac software, common in design and marketing shops, get the same help desk and the same response commitments as everyone else.
Our office is in a converted house. Will that cause IT problems?
Often, and they are fixable. Converted homes along Victory Boulevard, Richmond Road and Hylan Boulevard tend to have the carrier's modem in a closet or basement, a consumer router, thick plaster walls that block Wi-Fi and electrical circuits shared with the space heater. We move network equipment off the floor, add business access points where coverage drops, put a small battery backup under the firewall and label the cabling so the next problem is quicker to find. If the landlord controls the building, we coordinate any new cable runs with their electrician or contractor.
