On-Site IT Support in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut & Beyond

Most IT problems are fixed remotely in minutes. The ones that are not, a dead switch, a server that will not boot, a new office with bare walls, need a person in the building with the right parts. NetSys provides on-site IT support from its Brooklyn office across the New York metro area and a set of published coverage areas, and remote support everywhere in the United States.

The short answer

On-site IT support is an engineer physically at your location to handle work that cannot be done over a remote session: hardware failures, network and cabling installs, server room work, new office setups, equipment swaps and hands-on help for staff who need it. NetSys, headquartered in Brooklyn since 1998, sends engineers to businesses across the New York metro area, New Jersey, Connecticut, Philadelphia, Maryland, Delaware, Southwest Florida, Tampa Bay and Palo Alto. On-site visits are part of the managed agreement, scheduled when remote support determines that a visit is the fastest fix, and available on a project basis for installs and moves.

On-Site IT Support by The NetSys Group

The question is never remote or on-site. It is which one solves this problem fastest. A password reset, a printer driver, a Teams call that keeps dropping: those are remote, and they are resolved while the person stays on the phone. A failed drive, a firewall that will not power on, a floor of new desks with no network: those need a van.

Because NetSys monitors every system around the clock, we usually know a device has failed before the office does, and the engineer arrives with a replacement already configured. Joe Laboy, who handles systems, networking and hardware at NetSys, plans the physical work, and the same engineers who visit your office answer the help desk.

Remote First, On-Site When It Wins

Every request starts with a remote engineer, because most problems end there in minutes and a visit would only add travel time. When the diagnosis is physical, the visit is scheduled with parts pulled from stock and the configuration done before the drive. Recurring on-site time is arranged for clients who want it: a scheduled half day for a floor walk, equipment checks and the questions people save up.

Common Questions

On-Site IT Support FAQs

Where does NetSys provide on-site IT support?

NetSys sends engineers on site across New York City and Brooklyn, Westchester, the Hudson Valley, Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island, New Jersey, Fairfield County in Connecticut including Stamford and Greenwich, Philadelphia, Maryland, Delaware, Southwest Florida, Tampa Bay and Palo Alto. We have one office, in Brooklyn, and we deliver remote managed IT to businesses anywhere in the United States. The locations page lists each area we serve in detail.

When is on-site IT support needed instead of remote support?

When the problem is physical: hardware that has failed, cabling and network installs, server room work, a new office, or a device that will not connect well enough for a remote session. Everything else, including software faults, account problems and most Microsoft 365 issues, is faster remotely. We decide per request, and the remote engineer schedules the visit when it is clearly the quicker path.

How quickly can an engineer be on site?

Urgent visits in the New York metro area are prioritized by business impact. Routine visits are scheduled at a time that suits you. Because monitoring flags most hardware failures early, many visits are arranged before staff report a problem. Outside the metro area, timing depends on the region, and we say what it is when you call rather than promising a number we cannot keep.

Is on-site IT support included in a managed IT agreement, or billed per visit?

For managed clients in our coverage areas, on-site support is part of the all-inclusive month-to-month agreement and is not billed by the visit or the hour. Large physical projects, such as a new office build-out or a cabling job, are scoped and quoted separately because they involve materials and contractors. Businesses outside our coverage areas receive remote support, with on-site project work arranged case by case.

Do we need on-site IT support if most of our staff work remotely?

Less often, but not never. A hybrid firm still has an office with a firewall, switches, printers and a conference room, and those fail physically. Remote staff are supported remotely, with laptops shipped pre-configured through Autopilot and replaced by courier when they break. The office gets a visit when the office needs one. A common arrangement for remote-heavy offices is a scheduled periodic visit for the equipment nobody looks at.

Can NetSys provide on-site IT support for a business with several locations?

Yes, as long as the locations sit in our coverage areas, which run from Long Island through Westchester and the Hudson Valley into New Jersey, Connecticut, Philadelphia, Maryland and Delaware, plus Southwest Florida, Tampa Bay and Palo Alto. Each site is documented, monitored and visited as needed under one agreement. A site outside those areas is supported remotely with local hands arranged for physical work when required.
