IT Services and Cybersecurity in Central New Jersey
Central Jersey stretches from the warehouses off the Turnpike to the labs of Somerset County and the offices of the Monmouth shore. NetSys is one IT company for organizations across that area: day-to-day support, security, cloud and network projects, with engineers who visit sites in all three counties.
The short answer
NetSys provides IT services across Central New Jersey, including fully managed IT, help desk support staffed by engineers, cybersecurity, backup and recovery, and IT projects for businesses in Middlesex, Somerset and Monmouth counties, Princeton and Hamilton. The region falls within our on-site radius, so hardware, network and move work is done in person once remote troubleshooting has run its course. For an office in Trenton or near Toms River, both just beyond 50 miles, we check the drive before booking a visit. The help desk takes calls daily between 4 a.m. and 11 p.m. Eastern, and the monthly fee is set per user once we have assessed the environment.
- One office, in Brooklyn, NY; Middlesex, Somerset and Monmouth counties are inside our on-site coverage
- Trenton and Toms River sit just past 50 miles, so drive time is confirmed before any visit there
- Monitoring and emergency service run 24/7; the help desk is staffed seven days a week from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern time
- Month-to-month agreements and 98% client retention
IT services we deliver across Central New Jersey
We act as the IT department for organizations that do not want to build one, and as extra hands for those with one or two internal people. The work covers the full environment: NinjaOne monitoring and patching of servers and laptops, a help desk staffed by engineers, Microsoft 365 and Intune administration, ThreatDown managed detection, Barracuda filtering on incoming mail, backups to Datto or Veeam that are restored on a schedule to prove they work, and the firewalls, switches and Wi-Fi at each site. Projects sit alongside that work: office moves, cloud migrations to Azure or SharePoint, Windows Server 2016 replacements ahead of the January 12, 2027 end of extended support, and network rebuilds. Each of those three services also has its own Central New Jersey page that sets out the full scope.
Where we provide on-site support in Central Jersey
Our on-site rule is simple: engineers go in person anywhere within about 50 miles of the Brooklyn office. In Central Jersey that takes in all of Middlesex, Somerset and Monmouth counties, plus Princeton, West Windsor and Hamilton in Mercer County. By car from Park Slope outside rush hour, Woodbridge is about 45 minutes, New Brunswick, Piscataway and Holmdel roughly an hour, Bridgewater, Somerville, Red Bank and Freehold 65 to 75 minutes, and Princeton around 80. Trenton and the Toms River area lie just past the line; offices there are supported remotely, and any on-site visit waits until we have confirmed the drive time with you. Within the radius, visits are grouped by area and booked for work that needs hands.
Industries across Middlesex, Somerset and Monmouth
Each county has its own center of gravity. Somerset counts more than 15,000 jobs in life sciences, with J&J Innovative Medicine, Regeneron, Roche, Insmed and Bausch Health among the companies there, and Bridgewater adding Biocon Biologics' first North American headquarters and a 118,000-square-foot smart factory that Cellares is building. Middlesex holds Johnson & Johnson's headquarters in New Brunswick, the HELIX life-sciences district and the region's largest warehouse inventory. Monmouth mixes professional and technology firms at Bell Works in Holmdel, health systems along the shore, and a Netflix studio campus rising on the former Fort Monmouth. Across all three sit the businesses we most often support: practices, law and accounting firms, distributors, staffing and engineering firms, and the suppliers who serve the big names.
Linking offices across the region
Firms here often grow by adding addresses: a second office in Monmouth to be closer to shore customers, a warehouse near Exit 8A, a lab suite in New Brunswick. Each addition tends to arrive with its own internet provider, a consumer router and a file share nobody else can reach. We bring them into one design. Sites get the same Fortinet or Meraki firewall family, joined by site-to-site VPN, with consistent Wi-Fi and separate network segments for staff, guests and devices. People sign in once through Entra ID, files live in SharePoint and Teams with permissions by department, and laptops are managed through Intune wherever they are. Internet options differ town by town, since Verizon Fios, Comcast Business and Optimum hold franchises in different municipalities, so each site gets a second circuit or cellular backup where downtime is costly.
Storms, outages and incidents that shape planning here
Central Jersey's history gives clear planning cases. Sandy in 2012 devastated Monmouth's bayshore and barrier towns, from Union Beach to Sea Bright, and left hundreds of thousands of JCP&L customers in the county without power for days. Tropical Storm Isaias in August 2020 brought a federal declaration that included Monmouth, and Ida's remnants in September 2021 drove the Raritan to a record crest at Manville and flooded Bound Brook, while Middlesex and Somerset were among the first counties designated for federal individual assistance. On the cyber side, CentraState Medical Center in Freehold went on diversion after a ransomware attack on December 30, 2022, and Edison-based Hackensack Meridian Health lost its systems for about five days in 2019. We plan for both: off-site backups, failover internet, written recovery steps and monitored endpoints.
New Jersey law and industry rules, cited
Three sets of rules come up most often. The state breach law, N.J.S.A. 56:8-163, has a business report a breach of protected personal data to the State Police before it tells customers, and it treats online logins the same as Social Security and account numbers. The New Jersey Data Privacy Act took effect on January 15, 2025; it reaches controllers above its consumer-count thresholds, requires data security practices appropriate to the data, and calls for a documented data protection assessment before any processing that presents a heightened risk of harm. Industry rules then apply on top: HIPAA's Security Rule for health practices, NIST SP 800-171 for defense suppliers that hold controlled unclassified information, and FDA electronic-records rules for regulated life-sciences work. This is general information, not legal advice.

Central New Jersey FAQs
Who provides IT services in Central New Jersey?
Plenty of firms do, and the right choice depends on your size and how many sites you run. NetSys, founded in 1998, runs managed IT and security from one Park Slope office, and the whole region is within reach of our on-site engineers. We take on the full environment, from the help desk and Microsoft 365 to firewalls, backups and vendor management, on month-to-month agreements. Each client gets an account manager who answers a real cell phone and a dedicated engineer for severe problems.
Where in Central New Jersey do you provide on-site support?
Everywhere inside a 50-mile radius of Park Slope, which takes in all of Middlesex, Somerset and Monmouth counties and the Mercer County towns of Princeton, West Windsor and Hamilton. Engineers come for hardware, cabling, firewalls, Wi-Fi, moves and new desks, after remote troubleshooting has done what it can. Visits are grouped by area, so an office in Freehold or Bridgewater gets a planned block of time. Trenton and the Toms River area are just past the line, so a visit there is only scheduled after we confirm the drive.
How do you support offices in Trenton or Toms River?
Both sit slightly beyond the 50-mile radius for on-site work, Trenton at about 51 miles from our office and Toms River at about 50, so day-to-day support there is delivered remotely: the help desk, monitoring, Microsoft 365, security and backups all run the same way as anywhere else. New laptops ship pre-configured through Windows Autopilot. If a problem does need hands, we work out the drive time first and only then talk about a visit; nothing in the agreement assumes one. Offices elsewhere in Ocean or Mercer counties are assessed the same way, by address.
How is pricing set for a Central Jersey business?
We charge a monthly fee per user, worked out after we have looked at your setup; there is no published price list. Headcount, devices and servers, how many sites and circuits you run, any warehouse or lab equipment, and the compliance paperwork your contracts or insurer demand all push it up or down. A firm with three sites has more firewalls and closets to look after than one with a single suite, and that shows. Projects get their own quotes, and you can end the agreement in any month.
Can one agreement cover offices in Bridgewater, New Brunswick and Red Bank?
Yes, and that is a common shape for Central Jersey firms. One agreement covers every site and every user, with the same monitoring, security tools, help desk and documentation. Each office has its own network diagram, circuit details and closet notes in IT Glue, so whichever engineer visits knows what is there. Site-to-site VPN links the offices, Entra ID gives people one sign-in, and SharePoint replaces separate file servers. Adding a fourth location later becomes a project built from the same template.
Do you work with pharmaceutical suppliers and life-sciences firms?
Yes. Suppliers to the large pharmaceutical companies in Somerset and Middlesex, including staffing firms, contract labs, consultancies and logistics providers, are routinely asked for security evidence before contracts renew. We deploy the controls those questionnaires ask about, such as multifactor sign-in, endpoint detection and response, encryption, tested backups and vulnerability scanning, and keep the evidence on file. For FDA-regulated systems, we handle infrastructure, access and audit logging while your quality team owns validation. We work with your lab and quality software vendors rather than claiming expertise in their products.
How do we get started?
Start by booking a call with one of our engineers from the contact page, and tell us about your sites, headcount and what is not working. The assessment that follows inventories devices, accounts, circuits and backups at each location and becomes a written proposal with a per-user price and a list of projects in order of risk. If you want a quick, concrete look at your exposure first, the free external penetration test looks at what you expose to the internet, remotely and within limits you sign off. It is the only free service we offer, and it comes with a written report.
Do you have an office in Central New Jersey?
No. Our only office is at 1 Prospect Park SW, Suite 6E, Brooklyn, NY 11215, and the main number is 845-203-3914. Monitoring, help desk calls and security response all happen from that office, and engineers leave from it when a Central Jersey site needs someone in person. We do not list virtual addresses in New Brunswick or Red Bank, because that would suggest staff who are not there. What you get instead is documentation good enough that any engineer who arrives knows your environment.

Tell us where your offices are and what is not working. We will explain how on-site coverage applies to each address and how pricing is set.
