How managed IT is delivered in Queens
Our office is at 1 Prospect Park SW in Brooklyn. Engineers schedule visits for work that needs hands, with access and travel agreed for your address. Monitoring runs 24/7 from Brooklyn, and so does emergency service. Our staffed help-desk hours are 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern time, seven days a week. The proposal states severe-incident escalation, authorized remediation and any other after-hours work. Confirm landlord access, circuit diversity, cabling and equipment space before approving a network change. Carrier options to check in Queens include Verizon Fios, Spectrum Business and Optimum Business; availability, routing and installation dates must be verified at your address before a failover design is approved.
Who managed IT in Queens is built for
Businesses we can support in and around Long Island City, Flushing, Jamaica, Astoria and the JFK cargo area include importers, wholesalers and air-cargo firms on Descartes, medical practices and clinics on eClinicalWorks, logistics and freight forwarders on CargoWise, contractors on Buildertrend, restaurants and hotels near the airports on Toast, and property managers on Rent Manager. These are examples of business and application needs, not a list of local clients. We coordinate infrastructure, identity and integration with the application vendor, and identify any compliance requirements during discovery. Companies with an internal IT person can agree a split of responsibilities, systems and coverage hours before work begins.
Continuity planning for your Queens business
Start with the systems your team cannot work without. Record the impact of a building power outage, a failed internet circuit, a compromised account and an unavailable application vendor. Then agree recovery priorities, an independent access path, protected backup copies and a test for each critical workflow. Controls reduce particular risks; they do not guarantee that an incident cannot happen.
Managed IT Services in Queens: what NetSys delivers
Help desk and monitoring
- Unlimited help desk by phone, email and Teams, staffed by engineers rather than a ticket queue, with severe problems such as ransomware, systems down, no internet or email not working answered immediately by your dedicated engineer
- 24/7 monitoring of every server, workstation and firewall through NinjaOne RMM, with alerts an engineer acts on rather than forwards
- Patching and routine maintenance on the schedule your business sets, weekly for some clients and quarterly for others, with urgent fixes applied as needed in between
- Documentation of the whole environment in IT Glue, so the answer to 'what is that box' exists in writing
Security, built in
- ThreatDown managed detection and response with EDR agents on every device, not just servers
- Microsoft Defender for Business, Entra ID Conditional Access and multifactor authentication across the Microsoft 365 tenant
- Barracuda Email Protection in front of every mailbox, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC set correctly
- KnowBe4 security awareness training and simulated phishing for every user, on a recurring schedule
Backups, devices and vendors
- Datto SIRIS or Veeam backups with immutable off-site copies, and live restores run on the schedule in the agreement with the result sent to you
- Intune and Windows Autopilot device management, so a new laptop ships sealed and configures itself at first sign-in
- Vendor management: we deal with the ISP, the line-of-business software vendor and the landlord's building IT
- A quarterly technology review with a written roadmap and budget, run by the engineer who knows your environment
A 35-person hospitality business in Jamaica
This planning example shows how we could scope the work. It is not a claim about a customer in this market or a measured result. For published customer work, see our case studies.
A hospitality business in Jamaica with 35 staff across the office and remote, Toast as a core business application, a file server nobody wants to touch and laptops bought one at a time from a retailer. The break-fix arrangement now costs more in emergencies than a managed agreement would. The antivirus came bundled with the hardware, the Wi-Fi password is shared with visitors, and the monthly IT spend is spread across three vendors none of whom is accountable for the whole.
- KnowBe4 onboarding for every user, with a baseline phishing test in week one and recurring training after that
- A written onboarding and offboarding checklist covering accounts, devices, access and hardware return
- Discovery on every device, account and vendor contract, documented in IT Glue before anything is changed
- ThreatDown MDR and EDR rolled out to every endpoint, with the console monitored around the clock
- Datto SIRIS appliance installed for the server with immutable cloud copies, and a first restore run and dated within the first month
- Keeper password vault deployed so shared spreadsheets of passwords stop existing
One provider is accountable for devices, network, Microsoft 365 and security. Staff call a help desk that fixes things, the insurer gets answers with evidence behind them, and leadership sees a quarterly roadmap instead of surprise invoices. The agreement runs month to month.
Complete managed IT, cybersecurity and help desk for a 20-seat organization
A 20-seat organization handed NetSys the whole of its IT. Devices, network, Microsoft 365 and vendors came under one agreement with 24/7 monitoring and a named account manager; endpoint protection, multifactor authentication, email protection and tested backups went onto all twenty seats; staff got a help desk with engineers on the other end; and every new hire now goes through a defined onboarding process with recurring phishing training. The write-up is limited to the scope delivered, with no outcome figures claimed.

Compliance in Queens: the SHIELD Act and what sits on top of it
The New York SHIELD Act (General Business Law § 899-bb) requires reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards for covered private information. The small-business standard considers the size and complexity of the business and the sensitivity of the information; it is not a general small-business exemption. The service scope should identify the records, access controls, retention settings and incident evidence your business needs; your legal or compliance adviser determines which requirements apply. The managed agreement can include access reviews, patch reports, backup test results and a written incident response plan, with the evidence and responsibilities agreed in the scope. Discovery identifies missing records and assigns the documentation work. Applicable duties depend on the business, data, exemptions and contracts; your legal or compliance adviser determines which requirements apply.

What managed IT costs in Queens
Managed IT is priced per user per month for a fully managed agreement, and the number moves with four things more than with headcount: how many servers you run, whether you need after-hours coverage beyond monitoring, how much compliance documentation you carry, and whether we are co-managing alongside an internal person or running everything. We quote from an assessment, not a phone call, and the agreement runs month to month. What belongs in the monthly fee versus what is billed separately is set out on our managed IT pricing page.
Who this fits, and who it does not
Best fit: 10 to 75 employees, one or two offices plus remote staff, already on Microsoft 365 or ready to move there, and either no internal IT or one person who is underwater.
Not a fit: businesses under five people, who are usually better served by the small-office baseline described in our five-person case study, or organizations over 250 seats, which need an internal team we can co-manage with rather than replace.

Managed IT Services in Queens: FAQs
Can you work with our existing IT person?
Yes. That is a co-managed arrangement: your person keeps the relationships and the day-to-day, and we take monitoring, security, patching and after-hours coverage, with the split written into the agreement. Our co-managed IT page describes how the responsibility matrix is drawn.
Do we have to sign a long contract?
No. Every NetSys agreement runs month to month, with no long-term contract and no early-exit penalty. The scope, the responsibilities on each side and the monthly figure are written down before you sign.
Is cybersecurity included or extra?
Included. Endpoint detection and response, multifactor authentication and Conditional Access, email protection, security awareness training and immutable backups are part of every managed agreement. The free external penetration test runs remotely and is limited to the information available to NetSys and the external scope agreed with you. Internal reviews and remediation require a separate scope.
Do you have an office in Queens?
Our office is at 1 Prospect Park SW, Suite 6E, Brooklyn, NY 11215. On-site work is scheduled for your address, access requirements and support scope. Monitoring runs 24/7 from Brooklyn, and so does emergency service. Our staffed help-desk hours are 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern time, seven days a week. The proposal states severe-incident escalation, authorized remediation and any other after-hours work. Ongoing agreements are month to month.
How can IT support help with New York data-security requirements?
The New York SHIELD Act (General Business Law § 899-bb) requires reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards for covered private information. The small-business standard considers the size and complexity of the business and the sensitivity of the information; it is not a general small-business exemption. NetSys can help document the relevant systems, controls and incident evidence within an agreed scope; legal notification decisions remain with your authorized business and legal team.
