NetSys vs. DP Solutions

DP Solutions announced this summer that it had achieved CMMC Level 2 certification. They rank in Pennsylvania searches from offices in Maryland and Washington, DC. The rest of this page is what their site publishes and what ours does, dimension by dimension, including where we came up empty.

IT support in Pennsylvania

The short answer

For a defense contractor or anyone inside a DFARS flow-down, DP Solutions holds a credential we do not: CMMC Level 2 certification covering 110 security requirements based on NIST SP 800-171. That is a straightforward reason to hire them. NetSys is the better fit for a Pennsylvania business that wants privileged access management, nine compliance frameworks and an AI practice under one month to month agreement, with a free external penetration test up front.

What DP Solutions is

DP Solutions runs corporate headquarters at 9160 Red Branch Road in Columbia, Maryland, with further offices in Baltimore and Washington, DC, and publishes a service area of Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, the District and nationwide. Their home page publishes 54 years in business, 80 full-time employees and a ten-year average employee tenure, and their about page dates the operating history to 1971. Ten industries are named, government contractors and healthcare among them. Their governance and compliance page names NIST, CMMC, ISO and PCI, and their managed backup page publishes specific retention and recovery point figures.

A certification, not a claim

They published an announcement that the firm achieved CMMC Level 2 certification covering 110 security requirements based on NIST SP 800-171. For a manufacturer or engineering firm with defense work flowing down through its contracts, hiring a provider that has itself been assessed against those requirements takes a real problem off your desk, and we would not argue otherwise. Our compliance work is published differently: nine frameworks with a service page each, CMMC 2.0 among them, alongside HIPAA, SOC 2, NIST CSF 2.0, NYDFS 23 NYCRR 500, NY SHIELD, FTC Safeguards, PCI DSS and GLBA.

Recovery numbers versus recovery record

Their managed backup page publishes hourly retention points that can be modified to a fifteen minute recovery point objective, thirty days of retention stored locally and ninety days in the cloud. Those are exactly the specifics a buyer should be asking for, and they are on the page. NetSys answers the same question with a written plan, restores that we perform and time, and more than 30 ransomware incidents handled in three years, every one fully recovered. Targets and outcomes are both worth having, so make each firm show you the one it does not lead with.

Both give something away first

Their no-charge disaster recovery assessment puts a data protection specialist through your backup and restore procedures, tape rotations, storage and transport handling and network backup coverage, ending in a written findings report, with eligibility stated as Mid-Atlantic businesses running ten or more computers or at least one server. Ours is a free Tier 1 external penetration test, aimed at what an attacker can reach from outside, and the findings are yours whether you hire us or not. They look at different halves of the same problem. A Pennsylvania buyer can reasonably take both.

DP Solutions appears here because it came up in the search results for IT services in Pennsylvania when we checked in September 2026. Everything in their column is drawn from pages published on https://www.dpsolutions.com/ and links to the source. Where we could not find something published we say so, which means we did not find it, not that it does not exist. We make no claim about the quality of their service. From Their Own Pages

Four more things worth knowing about DP Solutions

Size and history

  • Their home page publishes company scale figures of 54 years in business, 80 full-time employees and a 10-year average employee tenure. (dpsolutions.com)
  • Their about page dates the company's operating history to 1971. (dpsolutions.com)

NetSys: Independent since 1998. One office, in Brooklyn, and no private equity owner behind the name.

Industries they name

  • Their home page names ten industries served: accounting, construction, financial services, government contractors, healthcare and insurance, legal, manufacturing, non-profits and associations, property managers, and real estate. (dpsolutions.com)

NetSys: Twenty six industries with a page each, from healthcare and legal to hedge funds, auto dealers and government contractors.

Compliance work published

  • They published an announcement that the company achieved CMMC Level 2 Certification on August 5, 2026, covering 110 security requirements based on NIST SP 800-171. (dpsolutions.com)
  • Their governance and compliance services page names four frameworks it supports: NIST, CMMC, ISO and PCI. (dpsolutions.com)

NetSys: Nine frameworks with a service page each: HIPAA, CMMC 2.0, SOC 2, NIST CSF 2.0, NYDFS 23 NYCRR 500, NY SHIELD, FTC Safeguards, PCI DSS and GLBA.

Rates on the website

We could not find this published on their site.

NetSys: We do not publish rates. We quote per business rather than per seat, after a call, because a thirty person firm with two servers and a thirty person firm with a regulator are not the same job.

What we looked for on their site and could not find

contract length or cancellation terms; rates; privileged access, privileged identity management or managed credentials.

That means we did not find it published, not that it does not exist. Ask them directly, and ask us the same questions. If DP Solutions publishes any of this and we missed it, write to info@netsysgroup.com and we will add it.

The honest fit: is NetSys the right DP Solutions alternative?

When DP Solutions is the better choice

Choose DP Solutions for a Maryland, DC or Pennsylvania organization in the defense supply chain, where hiring a CMMC Level 2 certified provider shortens your own assessment conversation. They also suit a buyer who wants published backup retention and recovery point figures, a 24x7 service desk, quarterly business reviews with monthly summary reports, and an annual vCISO review inside the security package.

When NetSys is the better choice

Pick NetSys when you want Pennsylvania named in the published on-site coverage map and the security stack complete from day one. One month to month agreement covers cybersecurity, managed IT with help desk, privileged access management, privileged identity management, disaster recovery planning and AI work, with a named account manager who hands you a real cell number and 24/7 monitoring behind it. The first step costs nothing: a Tier 1 external penetration test, findings yours either way.

Common Questions

NetSys and DP Solutions: FAQs

What does DP Solutions include in Security Plus?

Their Security Plus page names seven components: advanced infrastructure security hardening, Microsoft Office 365 tenant hardening, 24x7 managed detection and response, phishing testing with security awareness training, vulnerability testing and reports, cybersecurity form assistance, and an annual vCISO review. The page also describes 24x7 SOC support, quarterly phishing tests, annual vulnerability testing, MAC-filtering access controls and multi-factor authentication, and names HIPAA and GDPR among the regulations it helps address. Our equivalent coverage sits in the single monthly agreement rather than in a named security tier.

What is the best DP Solutions alternative for a Pennsylvania business?

If the deciding factor is a CMMC certified provider in your supply chain, keep talking to them. If it is a firm that publishes Pennsylvania in its on-site coverage and puts the whole stack in one agreement, NetSys is the alternative to call. We have been independent since 1998, we run 24/7 monitoring, we publish nine compliance frameworks with a page each, and privileged access and identity management are included rather than added on. The month to month term means you are never stuck with the decision.

What happens to our documentation and admin accounts if we switch?

Everything should come with you, and the agreement is where that gets settled. Ask any provider, us included, who holds the domain admin accounts, whose name is on the Microsoft 365 tenant and the antivirus licenses, and what gets handed over on the last day. Our own terms are on the page: month to month, no minimum, no early-exit penalty. We searched their site for contract length or cancellation terms and could not find them published, so ask their team to put that in writing alongside the proposal.

Do both firms handle AI and automation work?

Differently, and it is worth understanding how. Their AI Advantage Panel page publishes an on-demand webinar moderated by a DP Solutions employee with panelists from four technology companies, which is a useful hour if you are still deciding what AI is for. Ours is a delivery practice: Jamie Baum leads readiness assessments, Copilot rollouts, custom agent builds and workflow automation for clients, billed inside the same monthly agreement. Put the question to both firms directly: who would run the project, and does the work sit inside the monthly agreement or beside it?
