IT Support for Financial Services Firms in Dallas, TX
Dallas now has two stock exchanges trading from the city, a Goldman Sachs campus rising near Victory Park and a financial workforce that makes up a larger share of local jobs than New York's. The funds, family offices, lenders and broker-dealers around them face institutional security questions with small-firm staffing. NetSys answers those questions and runs the IT behind them, remotely from Brooklyn.
The short answer
NetSys provides IT support and cybersecurity for Dallas financial services firms: private equity and venture funds, hedge funds, family offices, lenders, insurance agencies and broker-dealers. The work covers an engineer-staffed help desk, ThreatDown managed detection and response, Microsoft 365 hardening with Conditional Access, email security, tested backups, vendor oversight and the written programs that SEC Regulation S-P and investor due diligence ask for. Everything is delivered remotely; NetSys does not place engineers in Dallas offices, and laptops ship pre-configured. The help desk opens at 3 a.m. Central, hours before the market, and pricing is per user per month.

What Y'all Street means for a Dallas firm's IT
The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas reported in mid-2026 that financial activities account for 10.1 percent of Dallas employment, against 9.9 percent in New York City, after 23.2 percent growth since February 2020. NYSE Texas operates from Dallas, the Texas Stock Exchange began live trading on July 10, 2026, and the Dallas Regional Chamber lists JPMorgan Chase, Charles Schwab, Fidelity, Citi and Goldman Sachs among the region's major finance employers, with nearly 3,900 securities and investment establishments across DFW. Goldman's 800,000-square-foot campus is due in early 2028. Around those institutions sit the firms we are built for: funds and family offices in Uptown and Preston Center, where direct office vacancy was just 5.3 percent in the second quarter of 2026, lenders and insurance agencies in Las Colinas and Plano, and broker-dealers in downtown towers. Their investors and counterparties now send the same operational due-diligence questionnaires a New York manager receives, and they expect answers backed by evidence rather than assurances.
Remote support built around the trading day
Finance teams in Dallas start early, and our engineers start earlier: the help desk opens at 3 a.m. Central, so a portfolio manager locked out at 6:45 or a market-data feed that will not load before the 8:30 open reaches an engineer, not a voicemail. Security monitoring and emergency response run 24/7. NetSys works with Dallas firms remotely and does not station anyone in the office. Laptops and replacement desktops ship configured through Windows Autopilot, and multi-monitor desks are set up by your office manager or furniture vendor with an engineer on the phone. Every firm has a dedicated account manager with a real cell number, and severe events such as ransomware or a compromised mailbox go directly to your assigned engineer instead of a ticket queue.
Due diligence, identity and the controls investors test
Allocators and limited partners rarely ask whether a firm has antivirus. They ask who holds administrator rights, how quickly a departing employee loses access, whether multifactor authentication resists phishing, how vendors are reviewed and when the last restore test happened. We build the answers into the environment: Entra ID Conditional Access that keeps unmanaged devices away from fund data, privileged accounts separated from everyday ones, ThreatDown MDR on every endpoint with a human response team behind it, Barracuda and DMARC against payment-instruction fraud, Keeper for shared credentials, and Datto or Veeam backups with immutable copies. Each control produces evidence, so the next questionnaire is answered from a maintained record instead of rebuilt from memory. A vCISO engagement adds written policies, a risk register and a tested incident response plan.
Wire fraud, market days and Texas weather
The losses that hurt smaller financial firms are rarely exotic. Business email compromise is still the expensive pattern: Dallas County lost $2.4 million to a fraudulent invoice in November 2023, and capital calls, distributions and loan fundings are tempting targets for the same trick. Every change to wiring instructions needs a callback to a number already on file, and finance mailboxes get impersonation protection. Continuity planning covers North Texas specifics: the February 2021 grid emergency, spring tornadoes, and the May 2024 windstorm that left hundreds of thousands of Oncor customers without power. Trading and portfolio systems should be reachable from any managed laptop, files and mail live in Microsoft 365 with independent backups outside Texas, and the office gets two internet paths so one cut fiber does not stop the desk at the open.

Rules Dallas financial firms answer to
SEC Regulation S-P (amended 2024)
Registered investment advisers, broker-dealers, investment companies and transfer agents must maintain a written incident response program to detect, respond to and recover from unauthorized access to customer information, and must notify affected individuals as soon as practicable and no later than 30 days after becoming aware that sensitive customer information was, or was reasonably likely to have been, accessed without authorization. The compliance date for smaller entities passed in June 2026, so the amended rule now covers firms of every size.
Texas State Securities Board (7 TAC 116.23)
A Texas-registered investment adviser must notify the Securities Commissioner when a cybersecurity incident that does or may affect Texas clients requires notice to a government agency, law enforcement, a self-regulatory body, or customers under a breach law such as Business and Commerce Code 521.053. The notice is due at the same time as that other notice and should state how many Texas customers were affected, if known.
FTC Safeguards Rule for non-SEC firms
Non-bank lenders, mortgage brokers, finance companies and investment advisers not required to register with the SEC fall under the FTC Safeguards Rule instead: a written security program, a Qualified Individual, multifactor authentication, encryption, and a report to the FTC within 30 days of discovering that unencrypted data on 500 or more consumers was acquired without authorization. NYDFS Part 500 applies only to firms licensed in New York.
Texas breach law and the TDPSA exemption
Section 521.053 requires notice to affected people no later than 60 days after a breach is determined and to the Attorney General within 30 days when it involves at least 250 Texans. The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, in effect since July 1, 2024, exempts financial institutions and data subject to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. This is general information, not legal advice.

Financial Services Firms in Dallas: FAQs
Who provides IT support for financial services firms in Dallas?
NetSys does, remotely from Brooklyn, for private equity and venture funds, hedge funds, family offices, lenders, insurance agencies and broker-dealers. We run the help desk, devices, Microsoft 365, security monitoring, backups and vendor management, and we prepare the evidence behind due-diligence questionnaires and regulatory examinations. NetSys was founded in 1998, our engineers are certified in Cisco and Microsoft, and agreements run month to month with 98 percent of clients staying.
How does IT support work for financial services firms in Dallas?
Your team reaches an engineer by phone, email or Teams from 3 a.m. to 10 p.m. Central every day, and security monitoring runs 24/7. Devices are managed through NinjaOne and Intune and identities through Entra ID, so access changes, patching and investigations all happen remotely. We do not send engineers to Dallas; hardware ships ready for first sign-in, and physical setup is handled by your staff or vendors. Critical issues carry a ten-minute phone response and a thirty-minute remote response commitment.
What does IT support cost for a financial services firm in Dallas?
Pricing is per user per month after an assessment, and we do not publish a rate card. A Dallas fund or lender's figure depends on headcount, devices and screens per person, whether trading or portfolio systems run locally or in the cloud, the security tier, and the compliance work you want from us, from Regulation S-P procedures to quarterly vendor reviews. vCISO work and projects such as an office move are quoted separately, and there is no long-term contract.
How do you prepare a Dallas firm for an operational due-diligence review?
We keep a living evidence file: the asset inventory from NinjaOne and IT Glue, Conditional Access and MFA policies, MDR coverage reports, backup and restore test records, vendor reviews, the incident response plan with its last tabletop exercise, and phishing training results. When a questionnaire arrives we answer from that file and flag any gap honestly, with a date to close it. Our free external penetration test, run remotely within an agreed scope, adds a recent independent result to attach.
How do you help Dallas financial firms with the NYDFS cybersecurity regulation?
Only where it applies. 23 NYCRR Part 500 covers entities licensed or chartered by the New York Department of Financial Services, such as an insurance agency or lender holding a New York license, and many Dallas firms have none. Where it does apply, we map its requirements, including multifactor authentication, asset inventory, access reviews and the annual certification, to controls already running. For SEC registrants the governing rule is usually Regulation S-P, and for state-registered advisers the Texas State Securities Board's rules.
Do you support market data, trading and portfolio platforms?
We support the infrastructure they run on: workstations and multi-monitor setups, the network paths and firewall rules each vendor requires, Microsoft 365 integration, identity and access, and backups of anything stored locally. Market data and trading terminals stay under your vendor contracts, and we work their support lines when a feed or license fails. Access to every platform is reviewed quarterly, so departed staff and forgotten service accounts do not linger.
