Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace Migration

Moving from Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace changes both the data and the way people work. NetSys scopes the migration, tests the important workflows and prepares your employees for the new environment.

The short answer

NetSys provides Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace migration services as a scoped project. We inventory the users, mail, calendars, contacts and file workloads you need to move, map the destination and exceptions, pilot the transfer and coordinate cutover. Permissions, application dependencies, training and post-move support are part of the plan. Each data type is verified against the selected migration method.

Choose the destination for each workload

Email, shared mailboxes, calendars, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams are different workloads. A mailbox migration tool does not establish coverage for all of them. Discovery records what is moving, where it belongs in Google Workspace, which history must remain accessible and which features or workflows need a different approach.

The pilot uses representative accounts and files rather than only a small test mailbox. Your users check the calendars, sharing, attachments and business documents they depend on. Exceptions are recorded with an owner before the wider move, so a difference in platforms becomes a planned decision rather than a surprise after cutover.

Map, pilot, cut over and support the new workflow

We prepare the target tenant, identities and approved migration access, then test the selected methods against the agreed data map. Cutover planning includes mail routing, final synchronization where supported, communications, mobile and desktop access, and fallback decisions. The handover explains where the information now lives, what was retained elsewhere and who handles issues during the agreed support period.

A destination-Google migration with clear scope

Discovery and data mapping

Agree what moves before buying or configuring migration tools.

  • Users, aliases, mailboxes, calendars and contacts in scope
  • OneDrive, SharePoint, shared data and ownership decisions
  • Migration-method limits, retained history and application exceptions

Pilot and cutover

Validate the move with the people who use the information.

  • Representative accounts, messages, files and sharing tests
  • Domain and mail-flow changes with a planned change window
  • Transfer reconciliation, exceptions and business sign-off

Training and aftercare

Make the first working day part of the project.

  • Google Workspace sign-in and everyday workflow guidance
  • Calendar, file-sharing and mobile-access preparation
  • Named support owners and a defined post-cutover period

What affects migration cost?

The quote separates implementation from Google licensing, migration tools and any period of overlapping subscriptions.

  • User count, mailbox sizes, file volumes and data history
  • Shared resources, delegation and permission complexity
  • Required tool coverage and handling of unsupported items
  • Cutover windows, training and post-migration support
  • Retention requirements and when source subscriptions can be retired
Common Questions

Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace Migration FAQs

Does this service move Google Workspace to Microsoft 365?

This page covers the reverse direction: moving into Google Workspace. For a Google-to-Microsoft project, use our Microsoft 365 migration service. The source and destination change the tools, data mapping and acceptance checks.

Will all Microsoft 365 data and features move?

No single migration method should be assumed to transfer every workload and feature. We document the required mail, calendars, contacts, files and connected workflows, verify the selected methods and agree how unsupported or changed items will be handled.

Can you move SharePoint and OneDrive files too?

Those workloads can be assessed as part of the project, with their own tool, format, ownership and permission checks. They are not automatically included in an email-only migration. The proposal lists the files and destination structure in scope.

Can staff keep using email during the migration?

That depends on the migration approach and cutover plan. We agree how source use continues, when final changes are reconciled, when mail routing changes and how users access the new service. Any expected interruption is planned rather than ruled out in advance.

Do you help employees learn Google Workspace?

Yes. We can include training and support for the agreed workflows, such as sign-in, Gmail, Calendar and file sharing. The project defines the sessions, materials, support period and the person who owns follow-up questions.
