Retiring Windows Server 2016 before January 12, 2027
Microsoft ended Windows 10 support on October 14, 2025, and Windows Server 2016 extended support ends on January 12, 2027. A typical small office in the county still runs at least one older server for file shares, a line-of-business database or a domain controller, often in a closet of an Irvine Business Complex or Anaheim Canyon suite that was built out years ago. The realistic paths are few: move files to SharePoint and OneDrive and identity to Entra ID, move the application server into Azure, or buy a supported on-premises server where the software vendor insists on one. We price each option with licensing, the vendor's own migration fees and the staff time the cutover takes, then recommend one in writing. If the server also runs the building's door access or a phone system, that dependency goes in the plan before anything is switched off.
Compliance projects with California dates attached
Several California requirements now come with deadlines that turn into projects. CCPA risk assessments have been required since January 1, 2026 for processing that presents significant risk, and the California Privacy Protection Agency set the first cybersecurity audit certifications for April 1, 2028 at the largest companies, then 2029 and 2030 for smaller revenue bands. SB 446 gave breach notices a 30-day limit from January 1, 2026, which only works if an incident plan already names who decides, who calls the insurer and where the evidence sits. Device makers moved to the FDA's Quality Management System Regulation on February 2, 2026. For each requirement we run a gap assessment, write a remediation plan with costs and owners, collect evidence in IT Glue and close with a tabletop exercise your managers actually attend. Office moves and network design across the county
When a lease ends in Irvine Spectrum, Newport Center or the Santa Ana side of South Coast Metro, the move is the cheapest moment to fix the network. On-prem servers to Azure and OneDrive to SharePoint
Two migrations in one engagement. The client's servers lived in the office, so the business lived with the office's power, cooling and hardware age, and years of files sat in individual OneDrive accounts shared ad hoc. NetSys assessed and sized each workload and moved it into Azure with identity anchored in Entra ID, designed a SharePoint structure of sites by function and permissions by role before moving a single file, migrated the OneDrive estate into it, set backups for both platforms and took on day-to-day management.
